Powerboost Magnaflow exhaust

Hi all,

Just wanted to share a few before and after pics of my powerboost MagnaFlow resonator back install. Very nice system but the exhaust clamps are trash. I installed it and tightened the clamps as much as I could, then went to a muffler shop to eliminate two of the clamps and weld it together. It came out really nice, it sounds a bit louder than stock, can't hear it while cruising, and power increase is a bit noticeable.

But I have to bust your bubble on power increase. The engine management on the Ecoboost is a torque request management system. It simply attempts to make the torque that is requested by your input. It doesn't try to make more than you request. So without a "tune" to alter the torque request logic, your truck wouldn't really respond to the exhaust (or an intake) in making more power. It simply doesn't work that way.

Still, nice exhaust.

So how much driving have you done, and how weird is it to clearly hear the engine turn on and off constantly?

I just installed it today so not much driving. Though with the little bit I drove, it was a bit weird, but not annoying. You can clearly hear the exhaust now but it is not loud.

Here are a couple clips of the exhaust. First a cold start, and secondly a drive by. I think the exhaust has a deeper tone and a bit louder, which is what I wanted, and turbos are more present now. Enjoy ??

I do like it a lot, and it sounds great…but how about some model numbers, part numbers, etc. for those looking to do the same? Thanks!
