Quick question as it’s been a while since I have ran my travel trailer with my Powerboost. The engine fan runs constantly even when the ICE is not running. I don’t remember it doing that but I could be wrong. Is this normal spec for the Powerboost? It is mildly annoying. Mine is a job 1 2021. TIA

I do hear a fan running on mine as well, but have not opened the hood to check if is engine fan or some other cooling fan for electronics. Sounds like it is coming from driver’s side. Mine is 2023.

I do realize that depending on ambients and how much draw you have on ProPower, it might require HVAC to be on in the cab in order for it not to reach oven standard. :)

But it doesn't NEED to be comfortable. Afterall, even if the truck is simply parked and is off entirely, the interior can get very hot in summer direct sun, for example.

So maybe there's a happy medium? Put the same sunshade in the windshield. Possibly park in some shade if possible. And if you must, turn on HVAC but set it to settings that might require only the slightest burden on the air conditioner system.

I haven't tested any thresholds regarding. I don't know what parameters will trigger the electric fans under the hood. I only know that those fans are directly related to HVAC burden during ProPower Generator mode. And, in fact, if the HVAC demand puts a burden of 12Amps or more on the HV battery, ICE will no longer turn off in generator mode. Of course there's no legitimate reason to tax the truck's HV battery at that rate if it's unoccupied. :)

Enjoy your ProPower!
It's ONE of the things that differentiates the Powerboost from all makes/models worldwide!
I'm amazed that in its 4th year of production it still sits all alone in utility.
