So, looks like my electrician made his own transfer switch, when I returned the Pro/Tran 2, because it was not code compliant, he just wired his own. Now I am checking with him if it is bonded neutral.
electrician confirmed today, all god from my side. Look forward to taking delivery and trying a test run.

Might be a dumb question … if you already have a generac why do you need to plug your truck into house ?
Generac transfer switch, not a Generac generator.

No, it doesn’t switch the neutral. Reliance X Series and the Generac 6852 are the only ones I know of that do.

Mine is a Eaton, model CPL112G3 (6/12 cct, 30A, 120-240V) and works well. Siemens aslo makes several that are for bonded neutral generator....

We built a new house about 6 years ago and fitted it with an emergency panel tied to both the main panel and an outdoor receptacle for a portable generator via a manual transfer switch (with mechanical interlock to prevent mains power from supplying the emergency panel at the same time as the outdoor receptacle). The manual transfer switch just happens to be an Eaton CPL112G3 as mentioned above.

When I designed the emergency power arrangement with the builder's electrician I had no idea something like a PB would come along.

I have 2022 XLT PB. I didn't buy it to power my house but I have been intrigued by the possibilities since I bought my truck. When I saw this thread mentioning the exact transfer switch that I have, I ordered a 30A generator cable from Amazon and tried it out the other day.

It worked amazingly well. No faults or error messages. It just worked. The emergency panel provides power to my furnace, hot water, various pumps (sewage and sump), refrigerator, freezer, microwave, kitchen receptacles, computer networking (internet & wifi included) and various critical lighting and receptacles.

With most equipment running (including the furnace and a 1500w microwave on high) it uses about 3,000 watts. The truck runs intermittently, starting and stopping as required.

This is so cool. I was quite apprehensive after reading of all the problems people were having using their PB as an emergency generator. The secret I think is in the transfer switch selection (ie switching neutrals).

After a power failure, I think it will take no more than 10 minutes to get back up and running with the PB. The cable cost $200 CDN for 50'.
