Any update? Curious what the issue was.
I picked up the truck from the dealership last night. 15 min before closing, after work. :|
All of the service dept. had gone home. The attendant the originally helped me secure a loaner was there and was very helpful. She gave me a piece of paper with several lines of Auto-Service-Ticket gibberish with lines of code that was more like a foreign language to me.

All that to say my wife borrowed my truck to go to work today, but as soon as I get it back this evening, I'll post a picture of the service ticket and show what the came up with.

Which was basically nothing:

- the couldn't duplicate the, there was a code, but couldn't get it to come back.
- I guess they cleared the code(?)
- The service tech ran other tests from the $2500 computer but didn't come up with anything.
- the service lady said "...it must have been just a glitch..."

stay tuned for a copy of the ticket.
Thank you.

They should have been able to pull the codes from it prior to clearing them. Even soft codes will show up in their scanner. Hell I can pull soft codes with my $50 bluetooth scan tool and iPhone app or with Forscan, so their $2K scan tool damn better be able to do it.

There's definitely a code there, but I can't recall exactly what it was.
I do know that the code he got, We could not get to come up on her cheapie scanner the day I dropped it off.

I misspoke, I mean the cheapie scanner said there was a code but it labeled it as "undetermined".

Stay tuned ;)

There are a few inexpensive options you can look into for a portable scan tool. The BlueDriver BT adapter is probably the best of the mobile app versions out there. Allows for real-time monitoring as well as diagnostics. They run $120 on average and worth the investment.

You can also get the OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter cable for about $45-60 and snag a copy of Forscan (will be your best friend for owning a Ford) and pull DTC codes with it as well.

Does this tool (OBDLink EX) work on other cars too? Don’t need crazy levels of detail, but getting the code scanned would be helpful

That particular OBDlink adapter should work well with multiple vehicles, but not all brands have software that is the equivalent of Forscan.
Unless I am misunderstanding the question. :)

I purchased after reading this forum the OBDLinkMX+ . It works on multiple vehicles. Blue tooth to my iPhone or iPad. They have the other flavor too and it works great ?

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was wondering!

I got a C7, and want to check the codes the engine throws. The version of this product I bought has the USB cable. Will that impact anything?
