3 times in the past few months the check engine light has come on and I get a warning that there is a "Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power" and that this happens when "the system has detected a powertrain or a four-wheel drive fault".
Each time this happened I had been on the road for 3 or 4 hours. The light went away when I stopped and then restarted the truck.
Finally got around to taking it to the local dealer and they're telling me "there's a broken switch that tells the truck to switch back and forth between electric & normal" and that if I were to continue to drive it, I might cause further damage. When I questioned damage to what, the customer support guy had no idea.
I've got a tad over 75K miles and haven't had any real problems other than the fuel door boot breaking.
I'm ready to call BS, but have limited options where I live. Has anybody else out there had this issue with their truck?
