Update on my coolant leak issue. It was a coolant line for the transmission that was rubbing against the axle, causing a hole. My contact at the Ford dealership said the original part number is no longer available, probably because Ford realized there was an issue with that tube. AND, the replacement part number is on national back order with NO ETA. This is one thing when you're home, but I am from Michigan, on vacation in Florida!!! The dealership is providing me with a rental indefinitely, even said drive it home to Michigan if I need to. I asked him how do I get my truck home? He nervously chucked and said "this is the first time I've dealt with anything like this. We'll figure it out". Just praying the part comes in before I have to leave. I have to be back to work on April 5th.

What a bummer to happen away from home. With that said they should be able to get some FLEX Seal type tape or leaking pipe plumbing seal tape and rig it up enough to get you back home. Then you can at least deal with a local Ford dealership and waiting for the part would not be such a logistical nightmare.

Sounds like a potential new slogan for Ford: "We'll figure it out". I'll get Jim Farley on the phone.

I called Ford Customer Service today and was pleasantly surprised. They assigned me a case manager, she called about 2 hours later and said she had been in contact with the dealership to expedite my repair. She confirmed that I had the rental as long as needed, even to drive back to Michigan. If the part doesn't arrive before I head home, they will transport my truck back to Michigan to a local dealership of my choosing to complete the repair. I really couldn't ask for a better response. I work for an automotive supplier, and I know warranty claims happen. How a company handles these, is what matters. I've seen some real horror stories on here, no rentals provided, months long waits on parts, so I know everyone has not had the same experience. Ford did good today.

I honestly don't know how I lucked out. I was stressed out wondering how I was going to figure out the logistics of this mess. I know some of you have really suffered and I figured my situation would be similar. For those of you that have been told "no vehicle available". I was told by the dealership, the Ford warranty automatically provides 10 days of rental coverage, which can be extended due to circumstances. I didn't get a vehicle from Ford, they are paying for a rental from Hertz. If your dealerships are not offering that coverage for warranty repairs, the number I called today was 1-800-392-3673

Not sure what to think... dropped and picked my truck today and everything is fine so far, but I'm confused about what was done vs. what should be done.

SSM 51134 is noted, which from what I can find, states to replace the 2 spigots. What ended up being replaced was the exhaust pipe, part#NL3Z-5A212-B as mentioned before. There's another number, but I can't find any info on it. 99426 WF. Pic attached for reference. I mentioned the SSM to the service advisor and he said they fixed it per the SSM.......which doesn't mention the part that was replaced. He said they replaced the heat exchanger unit, which includes the tubes/spigots. I just can't confirm that via part #'s. Didn't have time to or feel like arguing, so I left rather confused. Hopefully someone here can make sense of it.

Hello all, first post in the forum.
Anybody recently heard how long it’s taking for the back order? My truck has been not drivable and stuck at the dealer for 2 weeks now. FORD doesn’t know when, the dealer doesn’t know when. Supposedly it’s under “expedited/emergency shipping” and I have a rental but driving around a rental when I’m paying for a truck sucks (as you all know).

That 99426 may be a dealer code for "customer knows too much, get him out of the shop ASAP".

The NL3Z-5A212-B part would be the heat exchanger and not the tubes - they may have determined the tubes weren't the issue, or they just threw a part at it.

Welcome and condolences. For 2023 I don't see and non-drivable trucks that have been repaired yet. For drivable ones it ranges from 53 to 0 days.
