Ipurchased my '23 F150 Powerboost back in May and the check engine light has been on more than it has been off. I took it to the dealership back in October and it took awhile for the part to come because of the strike. They determined, or guessed, the knock sensor needed replaced. Last week it went in and the sensor was replaced. They also looked at the back up sensor, too, because the warning comes up in the dash every time I put it in reverse that it is not working.
I drove the truck out of the lot and when parking, the light for no back up assist came on. Within about 40 miles of driving the check engine light came back on. I can sense a little bit of missing. The price I paid for the truck and to have this many DTCs already. I'm very disappointed thus far. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the final fix? I haven't even complained about the inability to pick a priority phone in truck.

Hey Jeff. I have the same exact truck with over 16,000 miles and have had no issues so far. Please keep us up to date on how this ends up. Best of luck and hope you find the answer soon.

A CEL without codes is difficult to narrow things down.
The backup assist issue could also be accompanied by codes.

Can you harvest codes yourself? (Forscan)

So I had the No Backup Assist error for almost 2 years until I got a Mongoose cable and FDRS and updated my trucks software to the latest version, now it works fine with no issues. The dealers typically wont do the updates just because, but given you have this issue perhaps you could ask them to check FDRS and run the updates?

Regarding the CEL, can you provide us the actual codes? If you have an OBDII reader or Forscan you can pull the actual codes and we can help further diagnose what might be going on.

Prior to the knock sensor replacement I was getting DTC P0325 knock/ combustion vibration sensor 1 circuit bank or single sensor. Now I am getting DTCs P0402 EGR "A" flow excessive detected. U0121 lost communication with anti lock brake system control module and U0415 invalid data from ABS module.
Thanks for the suggestion on the FDRS update.

The EGR code definitely confuses me because EGR is specific to Diesel engines as its part of the DEF system. So that doesnt really even make sense to me, coupled with the ABS Comm issue....makes me want to think its low 12V SOC that could be manufacturing some of these issues.

Do you drive a lot? I know you have a 2023, but a lot of these trucks had bad 12V Batteries.

Perhaps just clear the codes and set your AC Fan to Setting 5 or higher (will bypass the BMS logic) and go drive around to see if you can charge up your battery some.
If you are still getting random communication codes, consider getting your battery tested, or just replace it with a quality H7 AGM battery.

The com related codes usually mean nothing on these trucks. If you pulled the "soft codes" everytime you started a Powerboost, you'd probably be shocked how common those are.

The EGR codes aren't just a diesel thing, since there are EGR codes on this 3.5 Ecoboost. The Gen3 3.5 Ecoboost (2021+) included the addition of the EGR under the hood of an F150 Ecoboost. It was accompanied by Ford lowering the Engine Coolant temps back down below 200F, as well. (Gen1 normal operating temps)

This is beginning to sound like my wife's 2023 Escape Active. The poor little thing was beginning to think that it's 1.5 l EcoBoost was transitioning to diesel. On a positive note Ford did correct the software issues
