Oh great! My '21 is stuck at 2.7.3.. I found a TSB for '21's that states the dealer can update it under the factory warranty (see attached). I'm calling my dealer tomorrow to make an appointment.
My truck is also stuck on 2.7.3. It was actually stuck on 2.7.4 but then there was an “update” where it reverted versions. No clue why. I get the same BS story every time I bring it in with Sync related complaints.

No confidence that I’ll ever get it fixed. I’m closer to upgrading to a new Super Duty than dealing with this issue over and over again though. Such a joke.

If you have 2.7.3, the APIM recovery procedure will not help you. That is a special procedure for a bad batch of locked APIMs, not APIMs that are slow in getting updates. 2.7.3 is too new for you to have a locked APIM.

EDIT: I see you posted your VIN earlier and had @rugedraw run it. I double-checked and your Sync version is 22177. That is way past the need for an APIM recovery. You‘ll have to be patient or dig in and do the updates yourself. You don’t have a pathway to force the dealer’s hand.

Certain updates seem to re-enable that nany message. You can turn it off in settings. Then it only asks if you want to re enable it once every couple of months.

By the way I'm in north Jersey, Bergen county. Where are you? Saw you're AM radio post this morning and I totally agree, we need 88
I actually don't mind having the alert turned on; I have my two little girls back there every day, and while I don't consider myself a forgetful person, we all get distracted and make mistakes. My only issue is that the music USED to be lowered during the alert but could still be heard, and now the music is completely muted/paused until the alert completes its cycle.

I'm in Caldwell. My wife's entire family is spread around Bergen County though...nice area!

To further elaborate, I actually like how Ford implemented the rear seat alert. The alert only chimes if you have opened either rear door since you first unlocked the vehicle and will chime on subsequent shutdowns until you open a rear door again. So even if you have the feature turned on, the alert will not chime if you haven't opened either rear door since you approached and entered the vehicle before driving. Once I realized how the system actually worked, I was pleasantly surprised they included this extra bit of coding. Other manufacturers may have the same algorithm...not sure. Either way, I appreciate that the chime doesn't alert me after drives when there's no chance I put a kid/dog in the backseat.

Just got this update while driving from lunch. The truck was acting very erratic, with no chimes from the speakers, no AA, and several reboots of the screen.

I don't mind, however, there was no notification or prompt that the updates were in progress. I only realized this after I got a FordPass notification that the update was successful.

4.2.2 on a 2022 Powerboost

I received the 4.2.2.1 update yesterday afternoon. No noticable changes.

My Ford Pass stopped working on March 18, and it currently won't even allow me to Activate my truck. I'm taking it into the dealership tomorrow and was given a TSB for my issue.

Hopefully, all will be fixed and updated tomorrow, and I will chime back with latest update number and good news all around.

Whelp....that was a big swing and a miss.

After a few hours at the dealership, nothing has changed. The app is not letting me Activate the truck. I gave the dealership the TSB I was told to give them by the Ford Pass folks, but the dealership said that they when they checked for anything regarding that TSB, that "nothing was there". The dealership did a complete reset of the TCU, and then supposedly did a reprogramming as well. The TCU appears to be working, and has an address.

Then after some more time, I was then told that problem was that it's a weak signal, and that it's bad coaxial cables that run to the atennas that are problem. They don't have these in stock, and placed an order for them....will call me when they are in.

I'm not sure about all that. I mean, the cables and everything worked fine on the day of pick up, and for several weeks later. Why would a cable, or cables, suddenly go bad? Add to this, swapping out the cables requires them to remove the headliner, etc. Which I'm really not digging the thought of on a truck that's less then 2 months old. And I really didn't understand why they said what they said about the TSB.

I'm going to have to mull this over before I take it back there. Maybe do the batter disconnect, maybe call Ford Pass again, maybe go to another dealer to get a second opinion? I mean, nothing is wrong with the truck, except the app. Do I just forget about the app, versus having them tearing into my truck?

I don't think there is much you or your dealer can do for the time being.

Yeah....that's my fear....that tearing into the headliner, and installing new cables will do nothing...so why do it?
Don't let them tear that truck appart, the idea that the coaxial cables are bad sounds like a bunch of BS to me. They broke so many parts on mine just diagnosing an APIM. I'll never go back to that dealer again.

I didnt know about this one until I got the 4.2.2 update today on my job 2 '22. Prior the install notice, this AM when I first started her, there was a popup to confirm if I wanted to leave the rear seat alert off, which had never fired off before. So thought something might be in the works.

I fired up Carplay maps and when the map auto zoomed as I hit city streets it started exhibiting some slowness in refresh and map redrawing.

The blue locator would move slowly then speed up to jump to your location, resume going slowly then jump again on a regular cadence of about 2 seconds. As the map rotated in turns, it would stop then jump to the correct orientation, looking like stop motion. Nearly the same cadence of the location refresh problem.

When I had stopped to grab lunch, I got the Ford Pass noticed of the update. Thought, OK, maybe it was crunching the update slowing the system down.

Unfortunately driving home the refresh problem was still there. Stop motion and catch up of a lagging location indicator. Previous to this 'carplay update', it was pretty seamless. I'd call these updates no bueno. I hope after sitting overnight it will go back to working correctly, otherwise think they may need to revist something.
