Colour vision got in my way… I’m less confused.

Anyone know why instrument cluster would show as “Disconnected?”

So 2.3.0 OTA equivalent update just showed up in FDRS. Its a TCU and APIM update just as @Jesse-Infotainment mentioned earlier. I managed to update my truck over USB this evening. If you decide to do it yourself, I have created a guide how to do it step-by-step here.

For this particular update, make sure you leave your truck powered down for at least 30 minutes once "Restart Required" message pops-up on your Sync screen

Were you unable to select updates before this like the rest of us? If so it may be back to the dealer...

I second that. I have a appointment to have this looked at in a couple weeks. Can’t turn on updates no sync version and no revision etc. But from alot of people that have taken them in it still won’t take and they have to wait for the new fix from ford anyway. I wonder if I should even bother and just wait till they have the proper fox instead of wasting their time and my time. Thanks.

What I'm trying to figure out is if 2.3.0 is the fix or if the fix is still in the works for "February"

I'm not fussing with the dealership. I'm following in the footsteps of the pioneers on here and have ordered the ODB interface and will license FDRS for le$$ than the dealership charges to hook up to the truck.

After seeing as many as 7 modules for Job 1 trucks being gimped, I'm ready to get my FordPass remote control of the Powerboost generator back. :)
(we had it 7 months ago)

Big thanks to you fellas for laying the groundwork.

So a dealer can install this if we have a failed 1.7.1 that messed up the APIM?
Dealers seem to not be able to do much of anything. The update is there for them to do but seem incapable of doing it. Most everyone has been doing it themselves.

At some point, don't you think Ford has to come up with a solution that includes dealerships doing updates that address gimped vehicles that can't OTA?

I mean there's no other way to un-snag some of these OTA issues.

By the way, I'm very grateful for your generosity sharing your knowledge

Okay, this may be posted elsewhere, but how do we do it ourselves? Is there a writeup?

I second Jesse’s observation. I’ve been fighting a dodgy TCU since I bought the truck. Multiple trips to the dealer. Last visit I was told that the TCU wouldn’t accept new software and Ford engineering told them their only alternative was to replace the module—which, of course, is backordered. Some handholding from Jesse, a few pointers from Iceman and a a day in FDRS and everything’s up and running.
