Power tailgate not going down with key fob

Been having a problem on my 2021 powerboost where the tailgate won't go down with the key fob on the first try. The exact problem is this:

A: push button on key fob twice (no go)
B: push button once on tailgate (no go)
C: push button second time on tailgate, everything then works normal.

After going through the above steps, the tailgate will then go up and down with the key fob.
Is think it might be the motor. Is there any way to reset this (my thinking is like reseting the auto up/down on the power windows)?

I see for my 2024, they have an update available in FDRS for the RTGM (Rear Tailgate Module) Maybe this is available for you too and can fix this.

My 21 has done this as well although I haven’t noticed it lately but I’ve also done a bunch of updates . When I’m home next week I’ll have to give a try

Mat not apply to your exact situation, but I have a similar issue where I was led to believe what's going on is a safety/security issue (i.e., you have to press whatever button several times to confirm it wasn't a "butt dial" and/or that the area is clear).

I had thought that a double press on the OFB should do the trick, but that isn't the case for me and my 2021 Powerboost. No luck with the FOB, but the button on the gate does the trick. Sure would like the FOB to work. Would prefer not to have to see the dealer on this.
