I recently installed 2022 xlt power seats in my 2023 STX (manual seats). The xlt seats had blown airbags and I wanted my original cushions/interior so I removed my cushions, seat covers and air bag and installed to new power seat frame, I also removed seat belt latches and installed on new frame. I started with the passenger side. My passenger power harness under seat was easy to locate power/ground. It was the two thickest wires in the middle row(power violet/black stripe and ground was blk/blue same middle row . I used micro fuse tap and got power from fuse 27 on kick panel(constant power). I ran a ground wire from solid ground next to fuse box. I did not disconnect battery when installing , this caused airbag light to come on. It was easy fix with forscan , just cleared DTC and all good .
When installing driver seat I disconnected the battery before removing seat . My new power driver seat does not have memory so all you need is power/ground, so I thought . I had already added heated seats and had power/ground right next to seat harness. I tapped into my heated seat power/ground installed power seat and reconnected battery . When I started the truck no airbag light but my brake light was on . I then went to turn truck off and truck would not turn off even with key out of ignition. I pulled the fuel pump fuse under hood and engine finally turned off. I then unplugged the power/ground connections I added under driver seat , started truck and then truck shut off with key . I then hit power seat switch and still had power to seat . So if you ever add power seats to your 2023 Stx that has non power seats , all you have to do is plug driver seat in and you should be good to go .
Me adding power to the driver seat double fed the circuit and that’s what caused ever light on dash to come on and truck not to shut off with key removed . First time ever installing power seats maybe save someone from these issues.

do you know if you can add 2020 lariat seats to the 23 STX? I have the same STX with manual seats and am trying to get power for driver and passenger. The online seats have HVAC...feel like that is a lot more digging to figure out that wiring. At a min. it be nice to have heat. Kinda of dont want to get OEM heat and toss it for aftermarket heat, waste of money and shops don't seem real sure about OEM heat...
So it is just power/ground to the passenger side only and plug to driver connector to the seat?

I'm getting ready to do this job too. I bought a 10 way power seat out of a 2023 salvage truck that had blown airbag.
What actually holds the foam to the frame? I tried looking for videos of the swap but can't find any for the back of the seat.
Just unzip back upholstery, take off the 2 nuts holding airbag to frame...but what's holding the foam to the frame. Haven't gotten the seat yet and my curiosity is killin me ?

The foam is held in place by the cover. Basically foam into cover, then cover attaches to frame.

For your air bag install you can move unzipped covered foam off of that side of frame if botton plastic cover long clips are un-clipped and headrest plastic sleeves are removed, stick air bag in sleeve, twist to get bolt posts through sleeve, attach connector, wiggle air bag now in sleeve to position bolt posts into frame holes, install nuts, slide covered foam back over frame side, re-attach seat back to seat botton long clips, re-install headrest posts.

Here is a few pictures that may help.

Reach up (wearing gloves so as not to cut yourself on the frame) an push the tab show pushed by my thumb below to release the headrest mounts.

Don't forget the connector for the air bag.

Notice the foam wrapping/hugging the frame.

Here is where back and seat clip together (shown unclipped)

Thanks ever so much for your helpful post! I bought an STX just a few days ago and was missing my power seat from my 18 XLT big time. Picked one up from a junkyard w a blown airbag just like you . I was very nervous about setting off the airbags, generating a DTC or messing up a module or the computer but all went smoothly! ?
I will add there are 7 male pins on the STX seat connector and 10 on the 21 XLT. My guess is the extra pins are for heat and possibly cooling. That being said I’m assuming the STX harness isn’t wired for heating and cooling unless someone else knows otherwise? The seat I bought is equipped for heating so I’d like to get that working if possible.

I wish it was easy for me to do a swap like that. I got a driver seat belt fault, driver seat position sensor, and an airbag fault on driver side even by disconnecting batter before doing the seat. I just did the plug and play method for my driver side but am unsure why it turned the light on, even with the same airbag being used.

I just did my drivers seat on my 2024 STX and used a seat from a 2021 XLT. Swapped all the cushions, covers, air bag, and seat belt and it all direct bolted up and worked, no wiring involved. Are you saying the passenger wiring harness is not a direct connection and work like the drivers side?

I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, so please bear with me here. I just bought a 2022 STX with manual fabric seats. Then I found a complete set of 2022 Lariat leather seats. Checked passenger seat by placing it on driver side, hooked to truck, and made sure it moves up/down/front/back before placing seat on passenger side. But, new leather driver seat on driver side doesn't move/tilt. What do I do next?

Exactly same happened for me. I have 2022 STX with manual cloth seats, and got a set of 2022 Lariat Leather 10-way power seats. The lariat passenger seat when connected to the driver floor harness moves forward etc. However, the driver seat connected to driver harness is a dud ... no plug a play like other luckier folks have encountered. Scratching my head...
