Power boost ev to gas pull

Took my daughter to school this morning and noticed it didn’t go into ev mode at all. After dropping her off it would go into ev mode but when it went from ev mode to gas there’s a tug every time. It’s a very noticable tug or pull. And I can hear the battery or something winding. Like a whistle. Anybody have this happen to them?

Mine did that yesterday, But I still had EV mode. Everytime the ICE would start up, It was very harsh. I ended up driving the rest of the day in SPORT mode to limit that harshness causing any damages. today everything is back to normal. Was very odd. I'm blaming that new update i got on Friday.

Ok. Reply back if it acts up again. Scheduled an appointment next Monday. So gonna see how the truck acts til then. No warning signs or anything pops up on the dash.

This truck attempts to learn our driving habits, but it is very basic and clumsy at it. I used the manual gear shift function to force 2nd gear operations for several days before tiring of it and just leaving the lever in D again. Interestingly, for the next week the transmission shifted through 2nd gear easily and often without having to squeeze the throttle just right.
Now it has settled back into skipping 2nd again.
I wonder if similar crude AI is employed in the hybrid decision making process? I think perhaps it is.
Wouldn’t surprise me if after an update it goes through a learning curve.

I have only noticed the EV to Gas surge when I'm parked at work. Usually, I'm parked on a street with a slight incline. I can get the surge to happen pretty reliably when parked there, turning the wheel and accelerating to quickly merge with traffic. Otherwise, it's been pretty smooth with only occasional 10R80 dramatic shifts. The 10R80 in my '18 Mustang would, on occasion, shift into 4th like it was shifting into reverse first. It was bad until the 3rd "flash and relearn" and then it finally operated well enough that I stopped worrying about it.
