Hi guys!!
I am looking for a camping portable water heater for outdoor use. So many on ebay and Amazon with mixed reviews. Will be used for showers and cleaning dishes. Brand name or any help appreciated.
Thanks

I rented a teardrop trailer a few years ago and the guy had a camplux model propane fired hot water heater he used for a shower. My wife and I both used it to in conjunction with the teardrops water pump and it was great. With that being said, I've heard mixed reviews about the newer models than he had but I suspect, as with most things, all those similarly shaped units come out of the same factory and simply get a different label depending on the run they're producing that day. Keep your expectations low and you'll never be disappointed!

Glind makes a heat exchanger that uses the waste heat from your engine's coolant loop to heat water. Pair that with a 12v DC pump, a small water tank (for heated water), and a cold water inlet; then you should have a fairly solid and reliable overlanding setup.

Otherwise, if you are running a powerboost, you could consider some of the smaller 240v instant water heaters. You would likely need some of the same parts mentioned above (but could be 120v AC instead of 12v DC)

6.5kw 240V Tankless Water Heater on Amazon:

I have no experience with either of these solutions, so proceed at your own discretion.

Joolca. They're not the cheapest though.

Just get a Joolca HotTap or a similar style water heater system. 12v pump/ignition system, and runs off propane. Gets water up to temp instantly. I’ve used ours pumping 45 degree water from the lake and the shower side was coming out at 108.
