I love that Ford offers more options than any other manufacturer of Pickups. Its overwhelming. I would have to say the Lariat is where you find the most bang for your buck. You can get just about everything you want in a Lariat optioned out. After that 502A trim you are paying for name plates. They are awesome. My dream truck for the last 25 years has been a KR. I went with a XLT so I could buy my kid a truck for college and still afford to take care of his tuition and I have two more kids right behind him that will need that kind of love. I think its the KR for me when I get my 3 kids through college.

I also got the 22" wheels.
I'm not sold on the 20" Lariat wheels (until I see them in the flesh I guess) but do like the 22inch version they come with.... What's your feel on them re driver comfort?

Update - after searching a pretty large radius I could not find a single 701 or 702 platinum that was actually available. I was about to order one from a local dealer and was close to the finish line when the sales guy's previous customer came to take delivery. Sales guy passed me off to a new sales guy who pretty much blew me off and said he would email me pricing because he was busy. 24 hours later I never got a email so I went to dealer about an hour away that had a PB KR in stock (the only PB I could find in about a 200 mile radius). I ended up really liking the new KR interior so I pulled the trigger on it. I probably saved about $7K or more and have all the same options that the Platinum would have.

Congrats, Kevin! Beautiful truck. I've been driving KR since late 2012 and hope to pick up my new 2024 sometime next month. Can't wait! Enjoy your new ride!

I have to admit, I’m definitely jealous of the HUD. I think that’s a really cool feature I’m going to miss out on, but I decided it wasn’t worth the $6500 when I didn’t want the other options that came with it.

This is also part of the downfall of more “packaged options” and less al a carte choices.

I also don’t understand this. The Platinum is basically a standard equipment BAP except the exhaust. Even all the Limited trucks of the past had the duals. Not a dealbreaker for most, but definitely doesn’t add up.
Owning a ford is new to me and I’m beginning to figure out some of the acronyms…. But what is BAP?

That is what I wanted - badly. The only option is to buy a platinum. Then, you have to buy 22” wheels ( not appropriate for a working truck), too fancy interior, and too much money for what you get. The only consolation is the bronze is VERY dark - I’m told, and shown.
