Performance Upgrade to heated steering wheel

So, my build date is March 12, 2023 at the Dearborn, MI plant... so my vehicle fits within the range and locations specified in the 22G06 notice. However, I am not on their OASIS list, nor VIN-list of affected vehicles. Yet, my window sticker clearly shows the heated steering wheel deleted. My dealer says he cannot do any upgrade unless I'm on that list. Bulleting states 6,261 vehicles affected in the US, vehicles made between September 22, 2022 through March 29, 2023.

Why is my vehicle not on their list? Argh... this is my first Ford. So far, not impressed their customer service.

I'd like to know why my Limited isn't on the list. Ordered in October 2022 and picked up January 2023. Clearly in the build window for the Dearborn plant. Dealer is no help and when I called Ford customer relations they said talk to the dealer. Not a good experience.

Fingers are chilly on these frosty mornings.

2023 Lariat built in that window and I have not received a letter. What gives?

So I was denied… they said my window sticker showed a $140 credit for the delete, therefore I’m not eligible. I researched other forums and they think only Lightnings got the free update, no ICE vehicles….

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure every 2023 built before March 2023 has that $140 credit on the sticker for the heated steering wheel delete or actually shipped with heat.

I believe the Lightning’s had a $50 credit and stated that they would be upgraded when supplies became available. Just from what I’ve seen in various forums…

I'd be happy to give them $140 in exchange for a working heated steering wheel.

I got the letter that mine qualifies and it's a powerboost, I also got the window sticker credit. Mine was a special order and I'm Canadian unless that makes a difference.

My 2018 had the HSW and I really miss it. I got an email on 3/19/23 from Ford that my truck was built, so my truck should fall within those dates. I'm going to call my dealer on monday and find out. I will post here with more details. I have a very competent dealer and the owner is a personal friend.

Good luck hope it works out as it's always a nice to get the things it should have had in the first place. However, it seems with a few exceptions this program was limited to the lightning so just make sure you temper expectations.

If your truck doesn't fall under the program and you decide to do it on your own it should be pretty easy. I just did my swap last week and it took me about 90 minutes. My truck was already wired behind the sccm but ymmv there, being a platinum I would suspect it's also wired. It's pretty easy to check if you have the wiring, theres 3 bolts on the bottom of the steering column and two clips behind the wheel itself and the housing pulls away and you can check for the wires. You don't have to remove the wheel to pop the clips loose, just turn the wheel to either side.
