I have bought several new vehicles over the years but have never ordered one from scratch as I did my recent purchase of a '22 F150 XLT Powerboost with the chrome package. So, I was always able to see the actual vehicle I was purchasing. Since there were no trucks on the lot, I was limited to seeing the pictures on the salesman's computer as we were putting the truck together. I had previously test driven the Powerboost at another dealership and mostly paid attention to the powertrain, performance, and comfort, all of which I loved. The appearance of the vehicle has always taken a back seat to those factors for me. So, as we went thru designing the truck, beyond me knowing what color I wanted (Antimatter Blue), I didn't pay attention to other appearance related options and ordered the standard 17" chrome wheels.

Now that I've received the truck I realize how much these wheels distract from the otherwise beautiful appearance of the truck. They just look so small and frankly cheap in my opinion, and looking at other trucks on the road I mostly see at least decent looking 18" wheels or preferably nicer looking 20" wheels. If I had realized during the ordering process how much the wheels distract from the overall appearance of the truck, I would have happily paid the cost to upgrade at that time.

Other than the wheels, I absolutely love this vehicle. My question is, am I stuck with what I have, and just accept it? Or can I order "after the fact" new wheels without paying an arm and a leg? Additionally, if I order bigger wheels, either "18 or 20", wont that affect my speedometer accuracy? I would assume that could be addressed by a software adjustment?

You can find take offs usually. I found a set of the 20” lariat/XLT wheels on eBay for a great price with tires shipped. So there are many options to get OEM wheels. If you don’t want aftermarket

The idea of "paying an arm and a leg" for wheels is subjective to the individual but a good set of wheels are going to cost you a lot more than the base upgrade $95 to 18" wheels at ordering. As far as the circumference of the wheel and tires, along as you stay within stock parameters it won't affect it that much. The difference on the stock tires, 17" to 18" is about .05 % if you go to 20" it's about 7.5% and a 3 MPH difference and would need an adjustment.

Craigslist and Facebook marketplace - takeoffs. As other said, eBay works too, just a little more expensive. However, probably more convenient especially if you don't live in an area with an abundance of takeoffs locally.

Within a few hours from me someone has the 20 inch chrome lariat wheels and tires for $1200 and another much closer has them for $1500. Both are brand new. If you can find something locally like this you're only out the difference of what you can get for your wheels. The sport 18s are more readily available and can be had for 1k, sometimes a little less, all in.

To determine if speedo will need to be recalibrated, probably won't need to if you stick with OEM combos.

I have 18” wheels on my 22 PB Lariat Sport Package. I used to thing I wanted the 20s until I drove one with 20s and realized how much better my truck rode on the 18s. Just something to keep in mind if ride quality is on your mind.
