Seems I've stumbled my way into some order regret and hoping everyone's calmer heads can set me on the right path. I ordered a 500A Lariat with 7.2kW and center console so pretty bare bones right before they closed orders in May. I thought I was being a smart guy trimming things down and avoiding items the dealer said would back things up like tow package, 360 camera, etc. I submitted the order quick to get in before they closed and now that I've marinated on it I am regretting not going a little bigger to just get the nice to haves as opposed to trying to do it quick. Things I didn't realized I would not have that is annoying: running boards. Things that would have been cool to have since I'm spending $60k+ anyways: upgrade to standard B&O sound system, sport package to get the running boards, trailer tow package and 360 Assist 2.0. So to all you smarter guys out there, should I just stick it out and be happy I'm getting a brand new truck or possibly ditch the order and put in for a 2023 when it opens in the fall and get exactly what I want (knowing my trade in will probably continue to decline). Current vehicle is 2018 f150 lariat for what it's worth. thanks folks.
I have been waiting for all i wanted since sept of 21 finally got vin 3 weeks ago possible 6-20 build if i'm lucky good luck on your order oh ya and some of the stuff i wanted was cancealed from ford a while back

....In the metro Detroit area there is a high density of car dealers and a high percentage of sales are A plan, X plan or some other employee plan since GM, Stelantis, Ford and to some degree Nissan have a big presence here. I doubt dealers around here would get away with much of that nonsense without being hurt long term, even in today's market...but I'm sure somebody will tell me that some are....

I am in Detroit metro and will somewhat second that. I get X plan and several dealers refused to take it on a truck that was not ordered by me. I have been looking cause I am on 9+ months since ordering. That said I have seen used Platinum powerboost trucks with 13000+ miles on them going on local lots for 2,000 less than MSRP for an identical level and equipped new truck. Someone is buying them and they are probably the unlucky few who don't get A/X plan. Or maybe they work in a situation where they can't wait to get it built.
