Once SP mergers the changes, the speed limit you see in your F-150’s or MME’s console, will be pushed to OP. Then you need to set the priority to Car - first or only ( I don’t think it’s important which one) - if car is not selected as high priority - most likely it will be ignored.

Also need to set the confirm to automatic. Fords don’t have an accept button On the steering wheel.

My main intention was to send the speed limit to SP, I’m not using SP to adjust the Cruising Speed. I keep that flag at warning with 10mph allowed over the speed limit.

Will the Ford adjust the cruising speed in SP or is it simply sending warnings that will require manual adjustment? For instance, if I have cruise set at 45 and the speed limit sign changes to 55 on the side of the road, the Ford will detect 55 and send 55, will SP adjust as well? Also if you have your max speed set to 45, will max speed adjust up in the same scenario or will it require manual intervention?

Huge thanks to everyone who is contributing to this project. It has been really cool to catch up with all the progress you all have made the past few months. Curious to see how it goes with my BC-less 23 Raptor, hopefully this week!

I ran across an issue today using OP longitudinal control. I realize the code I am currently running (dev-c3 dated 12/18/2023) does not yet have the Ford front radar merged with Sunnypilot's visual based control and this problem should be solved when merged. I was driving directly into the setting sun today and SP could not see cars in front of me. Not only would it not stop at stop lights, it wanted to run through cars in front of me going a slower speed. Lesson learned, If I am having trouble seeing, SP will have the same issue. Once the Ford radar is integrated with SP LC I suspect this will be a non-issue. Just wanted to warn anyone currently using SP with LC.

Unfortunately radar merge will not help this. Radar is used to track distance and speed, but anytime you are running OP Long the vision will select the lead. If you can't see a lead then OP can't see it either to pick one.

Certainly there is hope to allow radar to over-ride vision, but that does not fit comma (or Tesla) philosophy, and has to be written from scratch.

I just got the notification that pushing the Speed Limit from the car to SuppyPilot was merged and is available in build 1076 or higher.

  • NEW❗: Ford CAN-FD longitudinal
    • NEW❗: Parse speed limit sign recognition from camera for certain supported platforms

Can you clarify the setting to take advantage of this feature. I have updated and tried many combos and none work. Op LC on, SLC enabled / auto, limit offset fixed 0. Source policy car first (also tried car only). Tried dynamic experimental control enabled and disabled. I am missing something.

To put it simple is that now the car should send the value you see in "Speed Limit" box, instead of getting the "Speed Limit" from an outdated map, or other source.

Maybe @Ajzride can provide more on where the "Speed Limit" is used, I didn't spend time on that. It just annoyed me that the displayed "Speed Limit" was not correct, but I didn't use any of the features that rely on it.

For me it works one time. Start out 40mph speed limit. Speed limit increases to 45, SP receives the new speed from the truck and adjusts. Speed limit increases to 50mph, truck sees it, no update in SP, still running 45. Speed increases to 55. Truck sees it, SP does not receive it. Still running 45. Stop the truck, reboot Comma3x, works first time then fails to read any further changes.
