Anyone experience or resolve an occasional click or pop sound when their brake pedal is pressed?

I can’t duplicate it on command but it does seem to do it at least once with every trip/restart.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but do you have any update on this? My ‘23 Rattler does the same thing, and I’m just wondering if this is a normal 14th Gen thing or not.

Hey there. I can look into your F-150’s noise concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

I had this issue a couple of times, and then one time it went "pop" and lost all power to the entire truck. Opened the hood and noticed the battery connection was completely loose and not connected to the battery. I would check the battery leads to make sure they are connected and properly tightened down.

No change, except that I can almost duplicate it on command now.

Still only the once per start up, but have just kind of moved the live with it phase.

Is the pop inside the footwell of the interior? Or does it sound like from the other side of the firewall/engine bay?

I'm told its the linear actuator taking the slop out of the mechanism. In a way its nice on the PowerBoost. Then you KNOW when the ablative brakes are working!

Interesting term "linear actuator"

I wonder if that's the same thing as the brake booster push rod?

That accordian like exterior implies that something within can expand/contract? Possibly making a pop noise?

I've never heard the noise on my truck, but someone with a new 2023 asked if anyone else hears a pop on the first brake pedal push each drive event.

That was the term used in the ford briefing I saw. I’ll have to look for it

OK that’s pretty interesting. I guess you do learn something new every day!

i’ve either gotten so used to it or it’s just not doing it as much, if at all any longer, but for a while there it was as described, almost every time and somewhat repeatable.

I've had this noise in my truck since new and now hardly notice. Glad to hear it's not a defect!
