Noise on cold start Ecoboost

So, remote started my truck this evening.. Heard a noise outside and this is what I found.. I think it was coming from the middle of the truck but it went away once it was warmed up.. Haven't heard it before today..

That is not good, I ordered a 3.5 as well, if that’s a cold start rattle I would hate to hear it here in Canada at -27, that is unbelievable.

So an update.. Truck had same noise this morning.. Was prepared so I had the hood up and ready.. It's certainly under the hood.. Thinking cam phaser as that seems to be the most likely culprit from where the noise was coming from.. Passenger side head area..

Service should reach out to me Monday so they can hopefully give me an idea to what they think it is..

Sales manager was pretty much like, that's why you have a warranty it will be fixed..

Told him I didn't buy a truck just to have the everything opened up. But one step at a time I guess..

When my battery died yesterday, while hooking the charger up to it, the truck was making the same noise, except mine wasn't running. Actually, had two sounds at two different points. One was a knocking over by the brake valve (drivers side up by the firewall), the other was more at the center/passenger side, which was knocking, possibly more what you described. Almost made me wonder if it was a priming mechanism of some kind since the truck wasn't actually running. But then again, these Ford systems do weird things when battery power is low. it's at the dealership now. I suspect they will hear it if it's truly something to be concerned with once they replace the battery. Definitely disappointing, but having worked in manufacturing for nearly 25 yrs, new product quality spikes aren't unheard of either on first year models. I guess us early adopters will be here to share our experiences for others.

Hey There! Just curious... Did you find out what the problem was?

They say it's one of the turbos.. Was told 4 days on parts now being told this week it won't be till 3/2 for the parts..

I've reached out to Ford and have a case number.. Told them of they can't get it expedited then we need to discuss other options. My state has 30 days in the shop lemon law.. 3/2 will be exactly 30 days.. So let's see what happens now..

Was notified the truck was repaired yesterday.. Went in this morning to verify and noise was still there.. So, 37 days have gone by, no better off than I was on day 1... Waiting to hear back from the GM on what they can offer.. I understand everyone's hands are tied right now because Ford can't get these trucks out the door quick enough.. So who knows what will happen...

I will defend them on the fact that it probably did not do it when they replaced the part and started it up..
Seems to be temperature related, so that's why we waiting till this morning to start it to verify.. Sad thing is, haven't heard from them today even though they said they would call with an update...
