Update.
I had the truck at the Dealer for a week, for Cold start rattle, wiper recall and test the battery.

Tech said battery was at 60% charge he charged it and tested good.

The Tech could not figure out what was making the ticking noise, he said it almost sounds like a high pressure fuel pump going bad. He doesn't think its rod knock or top end noise or Cam Phasers. He submitted a request to Ford, supposedly a engineer will be onsite next week for another issue at the dealer and will take a look at mine.

I am still waiting on the dealer, nothing yet. But I narrowed the location of the sound. Its coming from the harmonic balancer area. For shits and giggles I sprayed WD Fluid on the belts at the harmonic balancer while the engine was running and the sound disappeared. Not sure if its a coincidence or not I will do more testing over the next couple of days.

My conclusion so far is that I may have a warped harmonic balancer or a Idler/tensioner going bad.

I heard that F150's should only use OEM filters,
This is not true. As long as you use an oil filter that meets Ford specs, you are good. That engine won't know the difference. If quality control is important to you, though, there have been many examples over at BITOG of those Motorcraft FL500's being trashed after an OCI.

Hope you get a solution soon.

Update,

I think I have narrowed it down to a pulley. I have done this about 6 times and every time I spray WD40 on that idler/pulley the noise disappears.

I replaced the Serp Belt for the A/C and the 2nd generator and no issues so far for the past 4 days.

Before i bough my 2019 Expedition with the 3.5, i was under the impression the phaser issue has been resolved. Bought it and within 16 month and low millage, it developed the tapping at startup. Took it in and was told the phasers need doing. Traded it and went back to a F150 with the 5.0.I wont have another 3.5
