New member here. I've been retired from the army for a while and work on Fort Leonard Wood for range operations as an inspector. I've owned several Fords over the years, but nothing more recent than a 2007 EB Expedition with a 3V 5.4 that was relatively trouble free.
I narrowed down my 1/2-ton choice to Ford after Toyota's miserable MPG's and uncomfortable seats completely eliminated them from contention. The Chevy's seats weren't much better so that left the Ford......so I did quite a bit of research on rebates to see where the sweet spot was, and I landed on the 502A Lariat. Not cheap, but still had plenty of options to keep my wife comfortable since lupus has kicked her ass thoroughly. I really wanted a vehicle that she could ride in that allows her to relax (as much as possible anyway). I decided to double check Ford's CPO site to see how much of a difference it would be for an older truck with some miles on it. I found a gold certified 600A King Ranch (I didn't want the pano roof) and negotiated a deal that I was satisfied with. After adding in the cost of a 120k bumper to bumper warranty from CNA I ended up being over five grand under the price of a new 201A 4x4 STX after all the current rebates.
Anyway.......enough of the background. My wife had me pick up part of her new living room set. I don't think it would have fit in my Golf GTI.....maybe the smaller end tables, but that's about it. ? The important part is that my wife is comfortable in the passenger seat.
My initial impression of this pickup has been great, it gets 20-22 mpg on the interstate and has been in the 24-26 range around town. I just ordered some pieces from megaohm and am researching upgrades for the lackluster B&O stereo.
My wife had me delivering her new living room furniture on the same day I bought it.
very impressed with the lighting package
