We’ve been around about this many times.
the issue is that neutral and ground are bonded at the truck and also at the service panel.
So if you hook up the truck to the service panel without also effectively “unbonding” the neutral and ground at the service panel, the GFCI at the truck will trip.
The only correct solution is to use a transfer switch which switches both the hot and the neutral. The result is that when the transfer switch is activated, neutral and ground are only bonded at one place, I.e. at the truck.
There are other ersatz “solutions” that have been repeatedly suggested (e.g. create a “cheater” cord that disconnects the ground wire) but none of those solutions is anywhere close to code.
Some people are mystified to see surviving structures amongst the destruction. The educated aren't among them.

Yup. We suffer the fools who we elect to office and put in control. I grew up in So Calif, and loved it. Not now; I won't go back until and if the electorate votes out of office the morons now in charge.
Be safe. Prayers to all who have suffered.
Doesn't matter who or what party, they will just vote more jokers in. Yes, there are some better politicians than others and for some people. But by nature, the government system is and was made for the elite. The bureaucracy corrupts even the well intended. Takes a lot of money to run for and to win an election. Corruption abounds. Bring on term limits, the elimination of the career politicians. Majority of these politicians are in it for self interest. The reality is the perks, power and the kick backs of the job are just too enticing and thus, they prefer to stay in office until they are physically unable to do so. Most will never feel the financial pains of the "commoners." You have to ask yourself, with all the additional wealth they accumulate while in office (they pass the laws favorable to them), the availability of lucrative outside job opportunities (gov't contacts and inside knowledge are highly desirable) and full retirement benefits available to them, why are they working such a supposedly, "stressful" job well pass the normal retirement age.?

Not sure if anyone follows the CA news but it has been a s**t show here the last few days. Fire burning down entire cities and electrical blackouts everywhere. Luckily for me and my family, I was hit with the latter of the two.
Whole town went dark - all businesses closed due to no power. Couldn't even pump gas.

Anyway, getting passed the sob story, I never thought I would actually use the Pro Power generator my truck came with but here we are. Powered up the wifi, tv, fridge, and a couple lights. I have an all new appreciation for this truck.

Side note - CA actually wants to ban gas generators. That has got to be one of the dumbest decisions I could think of.
Godspeed on your recovery . I have a 21 powerboost and have utilized it's generator many times

We use the 7.2 Pro Power to run the camper when shore power is unavailable. It will run the AC & all we need for a couple gallons of gas per day.
