After you made the change from digital to analog, did you perform a module reset of the APIM in FORScan? Many APIM changes require a reset to take effect immediately. Otherwise, it could take several key cycles.
no i haven't. not sure how to do that.

Why doesn't the dealer reflash the modules as built based on your VIN. No brainer...

Who needs troubleshooting skills when you can just shotgun parts at it? ??‍♂
I didnt even need to look at your profile to know you worked in aviation!! we call this method the parts cannon! ship a pallet of parts, hope one of them fixes it and never know which one actually did.

On forscan, click on the wrench. You will see a list of all your modules. Click on apim reset and run it.
thank you. i've figured it out yesterday. basically, after pm'ing my VIN to Jesse, we went through some troubleshooting. i performed a new scan and my IPMA did show up in FORSCAN after all. I guess everything there was fine. ended up changing the one bit from 3 to 2 in the APIM line described earlier in the thread.

I reset the APIM 3 or 4 times last night and the camera still isn't working, but the dash screen is now not completely black like it was, its now blue and the guided lines are appearing. so something definitely worked to a degree.

i believe they did that, but from my understanding the data from the truck gets sent to the ford server periodically so whatever they reflashed would be the modified data. i may be wrong regarding this however.

You need to check the connection under the Tailgate for the camera. At this point its the connection or bad camera

Thank you. I'll have the dealer check the connections. I know they replaced the camera 3 times already.

so i went to the dealer, had an extensive convo with the service manager and the master tech that has been working with the engineer on it. the master tech said that the camera is digital in fact, because analog ones had like 5 cables and the digital one has one coax type cable. he showed me the data on my truck from ford (looked like FORSCAN lines, but all in one long list) and the line in the APIM that I changed to a 2 has a 3 in it, so that was his reasoning that it should be that.

i dunno at this point whats going on. but he said they have to wait for the correct engineering number APIM to arrive and it "should" fix it. i'm not optimistic.

Good grief. Man all 21 f150 have digital cameras TO THE IPMA.

The 8” non 360 have digital to the ipma and analog to the apim that is why the 2

I give up I don’t know anything so keep pushing with the digital.

It’s to the point I’m tired of trying to help people because they refuse to listen.

ITS NOT DIGITAL!

I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm very thankful for your insights. I'm just saying the dealer is giving me a run around saying random things. Supposedly he said he's been seeing more digital cameras in newer trucks starting with 2022 which is what mine is but that's just his words.

I will drive to Dallas and PAY to have my camera fixed, (if I can't figure it out with the help on the forum)

The only thing I won't do is let the yahoos at a dealership touch the electronics in my truck. Warranty or not. They couldn't pay ME to let them near it.

Now a leaky timing chain cover?
Or a cylinder misfire?
They got me there, I'll admit.
But I'm hoping that parts swapping for those kinds of things shouldn't be as risky. Lol

so they finally fixed the camera issue.

the new APIM arrived and of course it didn't work as i expected. they tried some other things and what finally made it work was reconfiguring/reprogramming (whichever) the BCM module.

that did the trick. i asked the guy why was this not done initially before ordering any APIMs and he had no answer.

anyway, thanks to everyone here for contributing and trying to resolve this.
