MY22 Adding SiriusXM

yes I did load the values from the factory ACM to the used Canadian ACM that I bought from eBay. My factory ACM has SiriusXM so that value was copied from the factory ACM but I had do a Forscan change to enable HD Radio. Everything seems to work but SiriusXM Canada reference is triggering my OCD.

Also I keep getting DTC U0554-00 (Invalid Data Received from APIM) so I don’t know if the Canadian ACM is the cause of this.

I don't think being a canadian unit has much to do with it. People drive both ways across the boarder.

If the unit has never had xm activated, you will need to call XM and register the unit with them. This is different then activation. I needed to do this and wrote about it many posts back.

That said the setting for an HD unit are different then as built unless you had an HD unit to start.

Hey guys, followed all the instructions and got the XM to work. According to forscan and the diagnostic the APIM was already the correct unit so just needed the jumper and the antenna. Install was pretty simple thanks to all the instructions here. One issue I am still having is the volume indicator always reads “0” when the volume knob or sw buttons are pressed. Any thoughts on what is causing that? It seems like there unit is indicating an open antenna line. I thought that would have been solved with the XM antenna add. Do I need to do pull this additional antenna from the original and do the 3M tape adapter to the underside of the roof?

Are you sure you made the correct Forscan changes? Mine did this too and worked but the volume was showing 0. I went back and double checked and I used the wrong change for the radio I have.

Why would the APIM module not allow me to rewrite to factory? Keeps saying gain security access failed security key is wrong and then next line service procedure interrupted.
The ACM rewrote to as-built no problem.

Are you doing a write all are just that line that you changed? It’s been a while since I did a change.

Have you done a reset of it through Forscan? I’m not sure on the error may be message Jessie on the form?

Yes you have to connect the old antenna to avoid the DTC.

Ok, so I’ll do that when I get home. The connection is in the passenger C Pilar where I disconnected the original wiring and then mount the antenna to the inside of roof above the headliner? Hopefully that clears the volume “0” issue?

Correct that should clear the DTC but I’d be surprised if that fixes the 0 volume issue.

Ok, I got it, yes at 2am. Needed to reload Forscan without a pre saved vehicle profile. This allowed me to make the neccesary change in the APIM and clear the TCU error (which was related to the antenna). Hooked up the GPS antenna, cleared the TCU, and reprogrammed the APIM to “2” like you suggested. Once I figured out how to read the spreadsheet it was pretty easy to determine which code number to write. Pretty cool. Everything took and the volume indicator is working again. Interestingly enough the driver dash screen will only show what’s playing on CarPlay instead of XM even though it has a selector for XM. Well I’ll look in to that another day. Thanks again everyone! Love this place already.
