I have read through this thread and I am still a little confused on what I have in my truck. I have a 22 XLT with the 12" display no nav and no sirius enabled. I checked my AHU settings and it does show a Sirius ESN ID number. Does the truck have Sirius its just not enabled? How do I enable it in Forscan? Or do I need to replace the entire radio module with one that has sirius built into it?

Just make the forscan changes listed in the first post to enable SiriusXM

Maybe a little clarification...
You have an ACM (Audio Control Module) in your truck that is essentially the radio. The ACM controls AM/FM, HD Radio, and Satellite; and a few other audio freatures. (I haven't investigated this further because I got my satellite radio working)

You have an APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) that is bascially the Sync 4 system. The APIM comes with or without NAV.

If your truck had the Cnnctd Nav/SiriusXM deleted, Ford put in an APIM without NAV because of the "alledged" chip shortage. Since the Sirius XM and NAV work together, the Sirius XM delete was a casualty of the APIM not having NAV. Depending on what trim level you ordered, your ACM may have the SiriusXM tuner in it and it was just disabled in the APIM As-Built. If your APIM shows a Sirius radio ID in the as-built, there a good chance that your ACM has the SiriusXM turner. To make sure, you can remove the ACM to view the sticker to see if there is a SiriusXM radio ID. It should match what's in the APIM as-built.

All you need to do is attach a Satellite antenna to your ACM and make the changes to the APIM to enable the SiriusXM. By enabling SDARS in your APIM, the SiriusXM button will show up under Audio sources and the SiriusXM configuration button will show up under settings, with the radio ID.

Call Sirius and tell them you want to activate your radio. They will ask for the radio ID and the VIN. They probably won't find the VIN in their system so you will have to escalate to 2nd level tech support.

So in summary..... You need to attach a satellite antenna to your ACM and make changes to your as-built in Forscan for the ACM and the APIM. Everything else is in this thread.

I hope this helps.

Yes you’ll need the cable to connect to the plug behind the glovebox to the ACM.

I see now. I didn't see it was capped I assumed it was connected to something. My eyes aren't that good. So I think I get it now. Install new antenna to curry, take cap off wire under orange wire and get the female to famale and connect that to ACM. Is the splitter needed?

No you only need the factory splitter if you are going to add navigation. I went ahead and did the factory just in case but it’s not required for just XM.

I swapped my APIM again, everything seems to be working as it should now. Only question is how do I get the speed sign recognition working ?
I have a 22 xl with 12” digital cluster and 12” screen upgrades.
also, does anybody know what the 2 circles are below the speed
Thanks
