My work surface /console lid won't stay open unless you hold it....not a big deal, but a little annoying if you are trying to get something in the console. Anyone else have this issue?

If we're talking about the same thing, it is rather thick and bulky, and it seems to be barely able to balance in an open position on level terrain, so it makes me feel like I have to fight it. Luckily, how often do we really need it open. Minor annoyance category, but it is odd they wouldn't have designed it to lean back out of the way a few inches more

Totally agree.
When parking on a slight incline (my driveway) it will stay open.

I am hoping that someone in the aftermarket eventually makes a replacement hinge with a light spring in it. I have had my truck a week and the console lid is certainly on my dislike list.

Here’s how to improve the spring stiffness with 2 nickels:

FWIW I recently did this on my ‘23 and I found the springs to be pretty darn stiff and hard to pry up, harder than it looks in YouTube videos. I needed a fairly long flat head screwdriver to get it done.

it does make a difference. It’s not springing open or anything but it holds top position jusssst enough better to make the thing feel like it works.

Mine stays up, barely. But I use a bungee between the driver and passenger headrest posts to secure the lid in the "open" position when my dog is riding in the back seat.
