My most satisfied product so far: wireless CarPlay adapter

Forgive me since I'm not the most computer savvy guy. Will this work with OnXmaps? For those not familiar, OnXmaps is an app that is very useful for hunting and off road travel. It shows offroad trails and roads, public vs. private land and much more.

Looks like you can now use OnX with Android Auto and CarPlay now without any adapter: https://www.onxmaps.com/offroad/app/features/android-auto-off-road-maps

That being said, I haven’t tried it yet. Once (if?) I get my truck back from the dealer I’ll give it a try.

Thanks for that! I talked to them last year and they said they were working to make the maps on screen possible. I just went to the OnXmaps hunting maps site this afternoon and it still says it doesn't work with android auto. I'll play with it tomorrow. I'll take a look at the offroad map and see if it has the features of the hunting map.

Yeah, I wasn’t aware it had been released either until I saw your post and did some digging. I’m hopeful it is dialed in before the fall seasons open up. It’s been one of the most frequent requests around here so glad its finally happening.

Yeah, 14 Gen f150s with available SYNC 4 have wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. The point is that it can completely take over the screen and loads up the Android 11 on it. which means im able to enjoy more apps from the car screen, such as YouTube, Netflix, NFL, etc.

Does it work while driving, like for my passenger? And does it use the full screen area?

Can you recommend a front and rear dash cam? I have an older one on my Excursion and it’s worth it’s weight in gold, but it’s only front facing.

It is a wireless adapter. It addresses my wireless CarPlay requirement and offers a larger display screen than phone when i take a rest in the car.

Just heard from a little bird that OnX will be releasing CarPlay support for OnX Hunt "early this week" . . . just in time for hunting season to be over.
