Of course I would have preferred just getting a Lariat but budget and local market meant I was bound to the XLTs which tbh is still has a fantastic level of features. So I set off to remedy some of the items I rated high on the Lariat Package as well as some other aesthetics preferences. I'm more of a classy OEM look guy.

Exterior:
-Lariat Grille
-OEM Dynamic headlights with Glare Free activated.
-LED tails from a Raptor
-Body color Mirror Caps
-Removed the rear decal
-Rear Blocks pulled
-Bilsteins 5100 in the rear
-Truxedo PRO X15 Soft cover
-Tail gate lettering(Black)

Interior:
-Ambient lighting with media bin
-Heated steering added via SD climate card.

Really the only Future plans at this moment is some Katskins leather once the cloth is a little more beat up. I considered the cluster swap but for the level of work and price I'm pretty content with the analogue gauges.

With the great deals between this Forum and FB marketplace I'm still about 7k cheaper than just getting a Lariat so i cant really complain at all.

Looks great, see you are an electrician - so fiddling with wires, splicing, troubleshooting, etc. comes natural for you (which is great). Every time I try to "modify" something beyond wash and wax gets me in trouble - so I save time, money and aggravation by just having it done from the factory!

The only thing XLT left in my truck is the steering column, and that's because I don't move it. Take parts from whatever trim you want vs making a lariat clone. Katskins leather is good quality, but there's better things seat related to spend the $ on. I went down an interesting rabbit hole building what I did. @ReverendQ did as well.
I think he still curses my name for the parts list I gave him :ROFLMAO:

Seems like you're already well on your way down the "if you give a mouse a cookie" journey. It always starts off with 'just a cookie'.
@HammaMan , "praises" "curses" all just words with letters :)
@GypsyDanger , nice build. Personally, I might have bought a Lariat if it were not for a few things; I distained the brown in the interior and I really didn't want the 4A transfer case. Things I miss however are cooled seats and, as silly as it sounds, garage door opener in visor, lighting in glove box and console, a better cup holder in rear console. These and some others as you are discovering and know, can be added later. My 302A XLT is fast becoming a Franken truck to what I prefer. I find it fun to hack in FORScan and modify with/without OEM parts. I may consider a tune one day too. It's great to see you and others modifying to what you want. Reminds me of the freedom we are celebrating today.

Niiiiice. I had originally planned on some of that lariat swap with a red XLT.

Did you swap bump stops when you removed rear blocks? Im debating it. I got to use the bump stops a few times on the last camping trip.
i did not, i don't tow too often and its usually just dirtbikes in the bed or on a trailer. I do want a small popup but i don't think ill ever push it to the point of having an issue with bumpstops.

I took a set of platinum seats w/ massage and turned them into raptor seats while adding the memory controls.
