They almost got it, but their protrusion is not the correct depth. Needs a little more in that area to not add tension to the clips/panel. They are attaching a 1/4-inch plate to the cutout, where we are milling out a 1/2-inch plate so we gain an extra 1/4-inch for a total of 1/2-inch protrusion. From the photos, I guess they did not see thatGosh those look a lot like these.... SGS blockers
One pic has the same indentation and the others do not. When I had my door panels off I don't recall anything protruding into that space to need the additional clearance.
There are some words on the SGS version saying this:
"Multi-Piece Design that allows for proper door panel fitment"
At the time I didn't know about SGS and I bought the MTI's. Well the front plates sorta fit and the rears weren't even close. By the pictures you can see where the fronts I had to re-drill a slot (hack job I did too) and the rears didn't line up at all. The MTI's might be fixed by now but I'd go with SGS.They almost got it, but their protrusion is not the correct depth. Needs a little more in that area to not add tension to the clips/panel. I was told by another door block off plate vendor that the 21 and up have a better foam or similar cover over the door holes, and the door block off plates are not needed, is there any truth to that? They almost got it, but their protrusion is not the correct depth. No, it's the same as the previous trucks, block off plates are highly recommended and mandatory if you expect good performance from your stereo system.I was told by another door block off plate vendor that the 21 and up have a better foam or similar cover over the door holes, and the door block off plates are not needed, is there any truth to that?
What's the addition of the big piece of foam/blanket type material that covers the large hole as well as the plastic? Does it not block off the hole? No, it's the same as the previous trucks, block off plates are highly recommended and mandatory if you expect good performance from your stereo system.
ThanksIt helps to absorb the sound, but it's not a good seal to create a "enclosure"

Not to derail the topic, but it's sorta related, how are you guys removing the door panel? I searched for how-to's, but came up short. I did manage to get mine off to wire my power folding mirrors. Getting the door handle lever to weasel out of the panel was a real pain. It was so messed up, I honestly don't want to do anything else inside the door.
