Can't believe they haven't put a decent rechargeable one in the door that pops out. Several autos have had umbrellas / flashlights in doors for a while. Plenty of room for such in the door panel, especially with modern batts / LEDs.

Outside of the potential 'self defense' that a maglite offered decades ago, I think a modern led flashlight will outperform and not require a mounting bracket.

I probably can't be much help with the Maglite, I just keep a Surefire Fury in the center console tray. Blindingly bright light in a very small package.

I don't have a flashlight mounted (probably should), but put my med kit and fire extinguisher on the back of my seat. Pretty cheap rigid molle panels from Amazon. Put links to the rest below as well.

No need to mount.
Use driver side lower door storage bin. pad with some gloves or towel to prevent raddles, Easy to reach and remove while door is closed.
Maglight charger/holder in or above the storage bin would be a pain to unclip the flashlight with the door closed
