Is it worth investing in a Mongoose-Plus J2534? Is it mainly used to update modules? What if I am getting OTA updates? Perhaps my questions is more related to its functionality. What else can one do beside updating modules.

You can also use the mongoose Plus Ford2 as a J2534 adapter for FORScan modifications.

Seeing that you have a 2022 that was built with the software that is problematic to get via OTAs for 2021 truck owners, I can't think of a good reason for you to get one. With your VIN, I can check your OTA status for you.

Yes, it is for updating modules. If you want to use FORscan, it will work for that, but if all you want to do is FORscan mods, you can get a much cheaper adapter that costs less than 10% of what a Mongoose costs.

I've had some weird issues with my truck that my dealer refuses to diagnose, and was thinking about getting one of these as well after reading some of these threads. Do you have the capability to check my VIN as well to see if maybe these OTA updates are part of my issue?

Your OTA history looks clean and thorough. You are on Sync 23159 which is the latest version. What is your concern?

Well there's a few, the first is the screen freezing on startup(this one is totally random) sometimes when unlocking it, the interior lights and dash won't light up until I start the truck, and the headlights have stayed on after locking the truck until I turn them off manually(I usually keep the switch on auto, but when this happens, none of the lights on the switch itself are lit up, but it will chime with the door open that the lights are on) The last one hasn't happened for a while....so maybe that one was just a fluke. Either way, the dealer can't duplicate any of it, so they understandably won't do anything to fix what they can't see. I also have an issue with the rough transmission downshifting and a pop/clunk in the rear axle to go with it. I like the truck a lot, but these issues sure are annoying considering it's a "gold certified pre owned" Whats even more frustrating is that I am a dealer tech myself(not for Ford, so I have limited access to information that would help in figuring this thing out) so any help I can find here is GREATLY appreciated!

How do we check to see if our truck is getting Ota. I've only had mine a few months and I don't know if it gives you a pop up on screen or something to let you know or if it just does it. Where do I find out if I'm getting the latest updates
