I have a 2021 F-150 hybrid with 27,000 miles on it. For the last few weeks, I have been noticing a lot of clicking noises from the drivetrain. I hear them mostly after shifting gears (park to drive, reverse to drive, drive to reverse) and at slow speeds while in electric only mode. You can't hear it with the windows up, only windows down. It doesn't always happen, and it isn't always at the same times. For example, sometimes I will hear a mechanical click noise when driving around a parking lot at around 5 mph, but it won't necessarily be connected to a gear shift or anything. It's almost like it's coming from the driveshaft or axles. I just had part of the rear axle replaced about a month ago for the recent recall, and my driveshaft was replaced and the hanging insulation was fixed right after I bought the truck as part of that recall.

Anyone else heard this in theirs? I don't notice any problems with driving the truck, its just new noises that have never been there before.

Hey, Larry! I can take a closer look into your clicking noise concerns if you'd like. Can you send us a direct message with your VIN and the dealership name/location? To send a DM, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation".

We started hearing a clicking sound on our last three month vacation. I thought it was from the R front and my "supervisor" thought it was the L front. She sits in the passenger "Princess" seat as I play my game of "Driving Miss Pattie" all over the United States and Canada.

Went to Chalmers Ford in Albuquerque for an oil change and tire rotation. They found the same rear axle as the recalls talk about. The strange thing is my VIN was not included in the recall.

This is why I go to the Ford dealer. I normally get tire stuff done at Discount tire. While they are good, I doubt they would have noticed the bolt as it fell off when the tire was removed. Only a Ford mechanic would have noticed this problem.

Any headway on your fix trucks? My sound just started yesterday when I was backing into my driveway. When I engaged my truck in D or R, my vehicle just started the clicking noise coming from my driveshaft, but Ford has not contacted me to get my recall fixed for the rear end. When I checked my Vin, it said it was below.

I set up an APT with the dealer for this Saturday.
