I have a 2022 F150 SuperCrew XLT 302A 4x4 5.0L 3.31 with the Michelin Primacy XC OEM tires (275/65R18 116T tires with 18x7.5J rims, max tire load = 2756 lbs) with about 20k miles.
https://www.michelinman.com/auto/tires/michelin-primacy-xc?tyreSize=18
I run the tire pressure near max at about 50 psi to maximize gas milage (+20 mpg).
I rotate my tires about every 5,000 miles and don't notice uneven tire wear.
The ride quality doesn't bother me.
  1. Are the other issues that i should be concerned about when running at max tire pressure? suspension, etc.?
  2. How is the mfg. door jam sticker cold tire pressure (35 psi) developed and what factors affect it other than load bearing capability?

Unequal wear in the center of the tire. Tread depth gauges are cheap, grab one and routinely check it.

Thanks for your reply.
I have one and I do.
DT also checks them every 5000k miles at the rotation which i oversee with there tech and i have all of the records.
No signs of differential/unequal wear from bulging or other.

Woah man. The max pressure value on the side of the tire is for maximum load for that tire - a value also stated on the side of the tire. It's specific to the tire.

It has nothing to do with the pressure you should inflate your tires to for a given vehicle.

Your gains in fuel mileage will be negligible. The improper tire wear, jarring ride, reduced traction and poor tracking will be what you get.

The pressure on the side of the door jamb is absolutely a good place to start. If you run different tires or significant loading you may need different pressures. But not 50 PSI.

If towing at max capacity, the tire perssurr should be increased beyone the door jam up to the max cold pressure on thie tire.
The above quote is the folk lore, but I haven't seen any scince on it.
The length of the contact patch will shrink slightly but the pressure brwn tire and ground will increase and Traction which is the normal force (unchaged) times the friction coefficient will not change.

I have not experienced any of the issues described and have run oem Dunlops on my previous truck to 100k mi on 1 Seton tires without issue, so tire life hasn't been compromised. My tread depth is on track and wear is even. Ride comfort is fine. Because no bulging is evident by the tire tread, tracking is unaffected and I haven't notice an issue running the at 35 psi or 50 psi.
