Making Emblems Matte

I want to matte my emblems on the cheap. I've done plastidip smoke before and it doesn't last all that long. I was thinking of taking the emblems off (grill oval, tailgate oval, and front quarter vents) and spraying them with a matte clear like Krylon Fusion. Is this a good idea or dumb?

Were the overlays pretty easy to apply?

You'ld have to find the US version of Etsy and search vinyl f150 emblems.
It was relatively easy, I just took my time.

Smoked is fine and would look good on my truck, I just want to get rid of the chrome.

It was relatively easy, I just took my time.

I found the front and rear overlays, but doesn't seem like there is a similar solution for the side vents.

That's not really what I want. I want the stock vents, just no chrome.

So what about just spraying them with matte clear from a rattle can? Will that work or eat the plastic?

I second these! I have them as well and if you can swing the price, they're the best looking option IMO.

I'm gonna try the vinyl overlays on the front and rear first. It's only $30 for a set.
