I wish that the volume up button on the steering wheel would turn the audio on instead of having to press the radio button in on the center console. Especially since I have a 2011 Ford Fusion with Sync 2 that lets me turn on the Audio on with the volume up button on the steering wheel.

In summary, if I press volume up, that means I want audio on. It seems that this should be an easy thing to enable in a software update, and I would love to get it.

Who even turns their radio off anymore? Just turn the volume down all the way if you want silence.

So with android auto my radio turns off if it can't connect fast enough. I do remember my Mustang would power the radio with the volume. Oh well how things change over time.

I was bummed about the lack of a mute button - until I realized these things don't actually turn off like the old car audio systems used to and the power button is mostly a glorified mute button for the music player.

It would make sense and be useful if the audio player (for whatever the selected source) did "turn on" with the volume up button and maybe turn off/mute with a long press of the volume down button.
