Low Battery - Heater Not Working

I got a notification on my FordPass app that my truck went into deep sleep mode to conserve battery. The truck struggled to start, but it started. My heater wouldn't work this morning and the hvac was only blowing out cold air on my 35 minute commute to work. Could the heater not working be related to the low battery, or are these totally separate issues?

I'd do a new one. The H7 can be stretched, but I just went ahead and got the new one. It is very thick.

Resetting the Battery Sensor

When you install a new battery, reset the battery sensor by doing the following:
Switch the ignition on, and leave the engine off.
Note: Complete Steps 2 and 3 within 10 seconds.
Flash the high beam headlamps five times, ending with the high beams off.
Press and release the brake pedal three times.
The battery warning lamp flashes three times to confirm that the reset is successful.

The deep sleep notification went away. I got my battery tested at AutoZone, everything looks good on my stock 2 year old H6. HVAC is working properly again. I will hold off on buying a new battery for now.

I notice they checked for standard flood battery. You probably have a AGM battery. Not sure if that matters

Yes, I have an AGM battery, would it require a different battery test?

I am not sure about that. They are for sure 2 different styles as far as how the test I couldn’t say. I can say on my 22 I am on my 3rd battery. The all test fine but truck goes into deep sleep even when testing good. Your test is the first I have seen with SOC test. Driving there would charge it up. I charge my battery to 100% 1 hour later resting it shows 75% SOC. If truck Keeps going into deep sleep I would change battery.

I had a USB stick with mp3 files in the USB bin by the wireless charger, I didn't remove it for two weeks even when the truck was off; could this have caused a parasitic drain on the battery?

not sure if those stay hot when truck is off. I know on mine the power point/cigaret lighter is only hot while truck is on. You could test it by charging phone
With truck off see if it’s charging. If hot seems like it would only draw if was being used. Just a guess.

I believe the USB ports turn off by default in 30 minutes. So, I don't think there would be much of a parasitic drain from the USB stick, if any.

My usb be turns about a 1/2 hour after truck is off. When I remote start the usb port doesn’t turn on until I turn key on.

Put the truck on a battery charger overnight
These trucks are horrible with batteries
If it’s sat for two weeks, that’s your problem

But if you decide to get a new battery or simply charge, the one you have be sure to reset the BMS only after the battery is fully charged.

If you buy a new battery from the store, keep in mind those are hardly ever fully charged. It will need to be put on a charger overnight.

To clarify, truck didn't sit for two weeks, drove it every other day. Just the USB drive was in for two weeks
