Getting locking wheel nuts for my vehicles has previously been easy. I just bought the locking lug nuts from the OEM. I did that for my new MY24 F150 Lariat and I'm not particularly happy with what I brought home. The locking lug nuts are a 1/2-inch longer than the standard lug nut it displaced and sits so proud it looks like it wouldn't take much in the way of tools to remove it in a few seconds. I didn't find much info doing in searches. Any recommendations or aspects to consider would be appreciated.

And, unless that key has changed recently, the ugga duggas are going to destroy it every time you go in for a rotate.

Gorilla seems to make nice product; an example:

I have two sets now and they seem as good as OEM and will also go the distance.

I hate to say it, but locking lug nuts are actually a false sense of security. Lug removal sockets are ready available. I would be thief can also just pound socket over the lug nut, easily removing the locking lug nut.

If you were set on getting some, McGard is the only brand I would use

Yep, Ford actually has a same length wheel lock - but the truth is they are for deterrence and probably work 99.9% of the time. The extended length is to make it easier for the tire guy to remove the secure nut because so many people end up losing the socket key (as told to me by Discount Tire guy). Another concern, the spare tire does not have the key lock installed on 2021 to now trucks as standard - be sure to invent in a cable and lock or buy a key insert from Ford.

i agree lock nuts only stop a crack head.... anyone that wants them will take them lock nuts or not...

I have not bothered with them in years and have not had a problem, and i have an easier time changing over rims

I likely have the Ford ones you bought and they do stick out far. I haven't checked in a while but at least a couple of them are starting to rust. I'd return them if I were you.

Thanks for all the discussion and recommendations. I wasn't satisfied with the Ford ones I had. Too easy for available tools to remove it quickly. I returned them only to hear the parts guy mumble these were for the F250 as he scratched his head as I walked away. I'm going to study the recommendations above and hold off for now. My local dealer has a good deal on oil change and tire rotation every 5K which I am going to take advantage of initially.

Interesting he said they were for a F250. The ones I purchased were the ones from Ford's website after putting in my VIN or something. I'll likely just replace them eventually if I decide to keep the truck.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
just put 24 gorillas each on my 2021 F150 Lariat and my 2023Yukon Denali XL. Been running them for decades without a problem. 150 foot/pounds should slow down the average person anyway.
