I’ve had my powerboost tuned from them for the past 2 months,

returned it to stock to go to dealer on Monday. Can’t even begin to believe I used to think a stock powerboost was fast. You can’t even compare these things.

don’t wait on the tune. They change nothing with the hybrid system it works like it was stock. And this truck moves like no other.

can’t say I have “improved milage”my conditions change to much and I only have a 6 mile city drive to work currently.

I’ve used the tow tune and got 1.5ish more in mpg towing comparing to stock, similar weather conditions both traveling from same area pulling the exact same trailer and weight. Only towed once so far hard, haven’t towed any major weight

tbh not really much of a different truck other then making 500whp. And shifts smoother shifts 1 2 3 not 1 to 3

however with that said I would not drive this truck stock after driving it tuned

I haven’t done insane testing but eco mode seems to get better gas mileage then what I was getting stock before
They do tune all drive modes

I got the Powerboost tune for my new (to me) 2021 Lariat. Installed it on Friday and drove it yesterday.

The shifting is significantly better. Much smoother and no gear skipping. And this is even with the transmission “relearning” - Livernois says to expect the shifting to not be smooth at first.

The power is pretty ridiculous. I haven’t pushed it hard, but immediately experienced the “push you into the seat” power when accelerating on to the freeway and going from 2nd to 3rd. The responsiveness of the throttle is significantly better too. I only drove it in Normal mode andI liked it better than the stock Sport mode.

MPG was 2 MPGs better than pre-tune and I wasn’t trying hard.

All in all - first impression is really good and it appears worth the $

Your post may be the one to push me over the line and finally order one! Which tunes did you get? Which one are you running?

I got the 91/93 performance and 87/93 towing. My impression is that all PB customers get those 2 tunes. I’m running the 91/93 performance tune.

I’m pretty excited about the improvement. I’m thinking of excuses to go driving ?

You mentioned taking the time off when you went to the dealer. Any reason why? Is it just frowned on from a warranty perspective?

Also how easy is it to remove it then put it back on?

I can’t answer for @Gurupitka, but for myself, I will also be reverting to the stock tune before taking the truck to a dealership. I don’t need to give them any excuses for denying my warranty. I think the risk is small but the impact could be a real PITA.

In terms of effort, I think it is pretty easy. Shouldn’t take more than 5/10 min. It does require getting under the hood but nothing complicated.

The only potential that I see of the tune being discovered, regardless of how stealthy the procedures/processes there are regarding, is that these trucks are unique in that they report to the mothership on occasion. Buried in that data is a considerable amount of footprints if looked for.
Also, just for pondering sake, you might take a look at the vast number of parameters (PIDs) for just the PCM module. Load something like Forscan Lite and probe the PCM. It's insane the things it is recording.

Having said all that, I still think it just comes down to whether a person is wanting to find an excuse to disqualify a warranty claim or not. And often that comes down to relationships.

I had my 2018 F150 Ecoboost tuned and my dealership was well aware of it. They never even hinted that they were my adversary in respect to the situation. But then the warranty was never tested either since that truck never even hiccuped in 3 years 7 months of ownership.

Same reason for yzerman, just to reduce chances of them denying warranty if ever needed. Was just an oil change but when tuning it also turns off auto updates so I assumed they would attempt to update my truck while it was in the dealer.

Do you have to go under the hood to switch between tunes or just for initial setup and complete removal?

you have to go under the hood to switch between tunes (and for the initial setup). It is pretty easy.

Nice! Hit me up if you have any questions. I found the instructions to be a bit vague but Livernois support was very good when I called.
