Love how it looks. I wonder has anyone attempted something similar on the XLT honeycomb style grill? I could see how you could get the big bars on the sides to look ok but not sure how to approach the honeycomb part, or if it would just look bad.

Thanks,
Not sure about the xlt grill, the benefit of the lariat grill is that the two big bars are removable and then snap back in so I can wrap around them and then push them back in, if you can’t remove parts of the honeycomb then it may be tough.

my truck is actually an xlt and I have the original grill in the shed, might take a look and see how it is put together.

Do the 2 bars just pop off if you pry on them with a trim removal tool? Also, I have read that the small bars that you wrapped in the copper color are removeable too? Can you pop them off too without removing the grille?

Ya not sure if they are removable. I did find a guy that sold covers for the big bars on ebay in different colors that just snapped over them (or maybe adhesive tape). But I felt it would be more prone to fading and just look unfinished anyway so I passed.

Unfortunately you do have to remove the grill., there are 2 torx screws on each of the 2 bars (one on each end) and the snaps are pretty tight (need a flathead screw driver)

the orange bars also pop out and have 1 torx screw on each

overall it is time consuming but not bad once you get the hang of it….you could also remove them and take them to get painted

grill is only a bit of a challenge because you need to remove the trim piece above the bumper and then once you take the grill off there are shutters and plugs that have to be removed, just a bit time consuming

Another color that looks really good on the grille is 3M 2080 wrap S344 satin copper canyon which also matches 2018 Nissan Kicks EBB if you have paint mixed. I painted my Deberti tow hooks and had Tuffskinz color match tailgate letters to vinyl sample. I plan on adding stripe to grille in vinyl but maybe I will paint it .......hmmmm. The stripe pic was a piece just stuck on for a picture so it wasn't on properly but it is only available in satin finish. This color looks like rich copper with a hint of orange. Matches the amber led strip in headlight unit really well. Pictures don't look as good as in person. (less orange in person than photos show)

Sorry to revive an old thread but does anyone know where to get those beefier tow hooks from? I know it’s a USA company but forgot the name for it.

The company is www.deberti.com . They sold them as 2020 Raptor tow hooks when I bought them for my 21 F150 Lariat. I looked at web site today and all I could find is Chevrolet billet tow hooks so you might contact them to see if they still sell them. Very husky and well made but expensive, like $300. They came in machine finish or black powdercoat with or without their logo. I got them in black powdercoat (no logo) and prepped and painted them in the copper color with rattle can. There are other companies making similar hooks also.

I had this thread bookmarked for a while and finally did it, I wanted to share with everyone that with the good 3M vinyl, and a decent squiggee thing (I purchased a kit on Amazon) I did this quickly without removing the grille at all. I cut a piece a bit bigger than needed, applied it to the front surface, and gently worked it in with the squiggee. Ran the blade tight against the grille since there is already a seam there made it real easy. Just a decent warm day, no heat gun needed.

I see someone did the tow hooks, that's pretty damn brave! I'm going to try that next since I have so much material lol.

This looks awesome and so glad to see it can be done without taking the grille off. Any tips on the process and how to make mine look this awesome. Do you have any specifics on the 3M that you used? Thanks in advance!

For sure! I picked up the same vinyl the OP mentioned, great match I prefer it over the lighter actual Tremor's, invoice below.

I used this little starter kit from Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08DV4KPQJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&th=1

I started on the front face, then had to cut a little bit to be able to use the squeegee everywhere, when it got in tight then I ran the knife tight into the plastic seam and then used the tiny scalpel in the kit to really tuck it into the plastic joint there.

Couple months later and another 15,000KM, still lookin great.. my tiny humans finally helping out around the house and cleaning my rims!

I am fixing to do this to my F150 but I saw that the Tremor color is this...

3M Gloss Sunflower Yellow

https://www.rvinyl.com/3M-Wrap-Film-Series-2080-Gloss-Sunflower-Yellow-Vinyl

I also want to remove the black appearance package black F-150 on the tail gate and put the outline color either Orange/Red and then do the orange/red on the grill.

I also would not remove the grill to to this way to much work for a stripe of vinyl.

I will post pics when done. I know this is an old thread but did not want to drum up another one on the same topic.
