I have a full Talon skid plate and want to know if it is necessary to remove them along with the spare wheel before having the rust proofing applied. Thanks!

Really depends on the individual location. However, they should remove these before spraying.

Personally, when I get my truck to Krown, I will remove the splash pans and spare.

I didn't remove mine. They had a flexible hose that was used in those types of areas.

I decided to go with Fluid Film as Krown wanted to drill holes which did not sit well with me. I also spoke to the Fluid Film and the Krown shop and they said it is not necessary to remove anything but the Krown shop did say something about accessing the rear wheel well(I have a liner) area through the rear lights!! That also didn't sit well with me as I have security screws on my rear lights and I didn't want them to mess around with that. As a precaution, I will be removing the spare wheel as I don't want them to fiddle around with that either. Does it show that I have trust issues when it comes to servicing my truck?

They only drilled four holes, each at the doors sills. They remove the tails to spray fenders. I too have security screws. Just swap out before taking in or let them use bit. I too am picky but they do an excellent job. They take care of my truck as if it was theres. JMO.

Maybe that is what I will do. I just hate it when they drill holes! Why do they even need to spray inside the quarter panels and doors? Aren't these trucks aluminum?

Yes, but can still get some corrosion. For me, it's peace of mind. I know they did a good job, when my truck drips for a couple weeks.:) I lay a tarp on floor of garage so it doesn't drip on floor.

I am not worried about the drip as I can't park it inside and the driveway is asphalt. It will be 45 minutes less travel time and $60cad cheaper! Something to think about. I don't want the crap sprayed under the hood though. I regularly clean my engine bay and no need to soak it with the messy oil.

My 2024 F150 has surface rust on the exhaust pipes, muffler,, and a few sports on the frame. Do they apply Krown or Fluid Film on the exhaust? How much does Fluid Film and Krown cost?

I wouldn't worry about the skid plate, they do have long flexible hose as another already said. I do drop my spare, it's a good opportunity to clean it up, clean behind and make sure she is still OK. I only had 4 holes drilled in the sills which I was okay with. The amount of drip is a pain, I just use paint drop sheets I pickup from dollar store and hold them down with some rocks.

You can check out my recent post on using krown on my '21.

I can't get over the drilling considering the panels are all aluminum but with the same token the Fluid Film place is an hour away and cost 60 more. 169ish vs 220ish. Will definitely drop the spare for them.

Guess this depends where you are. I'm in Ontario, with CAA you save $20, cost me $139.95 + tax for Krown. On the hot components the oil will just burn off, they do spray, but I don't

You can tell them to skip the drilling, they do ask before drilling into your truck. Similar they always ask if I want me truck washed after and I decline.

I had mine done last year at Krown, and didn’t want drilling or any disassembly, so I just had the entire underbody done. They brought the price down to 100 bucks. My goal is to mainly protect the frame and other steel parts.
