Believe me I was a test evaluator for Ford’s the last 12 years @ the Allen Park test Plant. We use to write them up for not being flush, then they showed us the official ford specs. As for the paint? If you paid for the Rapid Red cc tinted. You might have something to complain about.

I've had mine on for door fitment issues twice. Both times they were able to adjust them properly. I did look at other on the lot, and they all had at least 1 door that was off.
My hood also has some play in it (up and down on drivers side). I met a semi on the highway and the hood latch released. Thankfully the safety latch still held, but the truck was dinging like crazy until i was able to pull over and close it again. I brought in to the dealer and claim it is normal, and just greased the latch. Installing dash cam today, to capture any further issues with the hood.

I hear wind noise from my door over 40mph, I had a similar problem with a Civic I drove that also had misalignment of the door frame. After 20min. with someone that knew what they were doing, the door was fixed and the wind noise was gone. It wasn’t even my car!

The door on my truck is worse and the whole door is at an angle to the cab. It looks like it’s open when it it’s latched shut.

Having spoken with the service manager at my dealership today, they are passing the buck to Ford; claiming to have had a single cab work truck with the same problem. They said that they were unable to fix that truck and spoke with Ford. Ford is claiming it’s a tolerance issue. Which is basically stating the obvious!

I have seen cars that were T-boned in collisions and $50 short of being totaled that had better door fitment when fixed. This is from over ten years experience working as a mechanic part time in a body shop. I wish that I was still in contact with the Body Man there, he would adjust the doors just for the challenge. It is remarkable what can be done when you take pride in your work.

When I signed the contract for the truck, I did it with the belief that the doors would be fixed. I never would have driven it off the lot had I been given the runaround that I experienced today.

I really expected more, especially considering that the way doors are attached to cars and trucks haven’t had any appreciable change for the better part of a century.

I plan on making a few visits with some independent body shops to see what they say. I have some experience in the process, one of my first jobs was at a shop that had a lot of customers with brand new cars that paid us to basically confirm that they weren’t imagining problems with their cars and force the dealers to do what they were supposed to do in the first place.

This is a problem that needs to be addressed better and trucks shouldn’t even be leaving the factory with such shoddily installed doors.

I totally agree, and that was part of the reason that I wanted to post on here first to make sure that I wasn’t being unrealistic and even bringing some of those things to their attention. Like I said I value the relationship that I have with them and it goes both ways. It’s just hard when you get so excited for these things and it shows up and has got quirky little issues that are really not a big deal in the real world, but can sure seem frustrating when you’re so excited for the truck..

Have you heard anything from your dealer regarding your doors? Mine tried to lead me to believe that it was a single cab issue but judging from your truck, that isn’t the case.

The first 3 pictures of the door fitment, to the front fender. Is that Ford specs are = flush to under flush 1mm. They do not want the door to be overflush. This would cause a wind noise, & possible water intrusion into the cab.
Doors not flush or close properly on delivery would have me extremely concerned. I'm working with a massive wind noise drivers side that is so bad above 60 my so won't ride in my 60K truck with 500 miles on it.

I just picked up my truck tonight. The dealer and sent it off to their body shop and so far it appears that the doors were all adjusted nicely and the paint imperfections were dealt with. It was getting dark so I couldn’t have a real close luck but I will check it again in the sunlight. There were several parts that they had to order for various other issues and apparently those are still a week out so I opted to take delivery of the truck now and then take it back to them to fix those, I figured that Would also give me time to identify any other potential issues.
