Just received the 3.5.2 update

Not a fan of how android works right now. Maps opens by default and there is no way to change that. I actually have android auto deactivated.

Amd apparently this release did not required auto updates activiated.....sinve mine is off and still got this update.

This irritates the shit out of me.

My logic thinks that the screen should default to the Ford Sync home screen and let me navigate to Android Auto if I want. All while keeping notifications and such active via Android Auto.

Yeah I suppose. I mean, I don't mind it connecting but I'd rather not have it default there.

Edit: just got in the truck and it defaulted to the Ford Sync audio screen.

That setting does nothing to stop maps from being the default screen.

So set up Alexa in the truck today and asked it for directions. It told me where to go but it didn't send the directions to Apple or Google maps ( I have both) My Nav trial expired so not sure if it would've sent the direction to Sync. Not a big deal. Just curious if Alexa can work with any Nav systems to provide directions.

What happens if you say "Alexa, route me too (wherever you want to go)"

Just curious. "Route" is a command that she understands what I am requesting and launches the native Nav if I'm not in Android Auto maps. (Google)

when you ask Alexa something, your question is routed to the NSA in Virginia, then 2 office mates figure out a good answer and send it back to you

I got a notification that I received 3.5.2, but now the message is gone in the app, and it also disappeared from the truck before I could open it. It reads Sync Version 22192 rev. 498. I don't know if that is what it looked like before or not.

Anyone else have this? Is there a way to check the power-up version?

3.5.2. is a small patch for the GWM to prepare for future updates. If you provide you VIN, I can check to see if it went through properly or not.

Yeah, I get that, but I do want to know in order to try the full screen deal with Jesse. Here is my VIN. How do you look it up? I am pretty tech savvy. I don’t want to make anyone do the work for me. Thanks!

The update for full screen isn't out yet. 3.5.2 is to prep you for that when it gets released.

No, you can't check the power up version directly on your truck. The only way to see what version you're on is if it came via OTA, then someone with access to Ford PTS (like me and others) can check with your VIN on Ford's servers. People that have access to FDRS (like Jesse and others) can check what specific modules on your trucks have pending updates, but they can't see what power up version you are on.
