Got this lovely DTC this morning after getting gas.

I was able to clear it with Forscan and it didn't come back after I restarted the truck.
Should I be worried?

If it triggers the CEL, it will be something to look at if it returns.
All the random communication codes don't mean anything and clear on their own with nothing to worry about.

@rjinaz I came onto the forums to search for this code after a recent experience...when I saw the search result for your post I had brief a deja vu moment where I asked myself "did I already post something about this and just forgot"?

9SEP (the day before yours apparently), I got the same code, also right after getting gas...also on a '23, though mine is an XLT)? Mine triggered a CEL, I pulled the code after I got home and also got "not present at time of request". Made an appointment to have the dealer check it out, but the CEL light went out on its own a day or two later (I intentionally did not clear the code) so i delayed the appointment to when it was more convenient for me.

Made it into the dealership today and although they weren't going to do any extensive troubleshooting without the CEL being active, they did pull the codes...did not come back with a P1A42 (current or previous). It's like the truck cleared the code itself. I'll probably get out the laptop and FORSCAN this weekend to double check that it's not still saved somewhere deep in there (not sure if the dealership scanned the BECM), but the similarity between our experiences (within 24 hrs of eachother, right after refuel, this doesn't appear to be a common code on other forum threads) makes me wonder if it was some kind of software glitch.

I'm assuming yours hasn't come back?

Hasn’t come back.
I did end up replacing my battery after seeing a low state of charge and it failed on an amp load test.
No issues after that.
