Issue after Eibach Pro truck install

So installed the Eibach pro truck coilovers this afternoon. Everything seemed like went ok except for when I took it for a spin. Wheels turned fine but heard loud clunking. Then limped back to house and saw this. Anyone know what caused this and how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Not an expert on this. But I would say that you lifted it too high and have pulled the axle out of the outer cv joint.

Fix would be to drop the front end some, and get at least one new axle for the twisted side.

It looks like the cv shafts may have been over extended and separated at the outer joints under the boots. This video is for an inner joint, but the same concept applies. You may be able to get it on jackstands and turn the wheel while holding the shaft and get it to pop back into place. Just go in the direction to undo the twist in the boot(s) and hopefully it didn't get torn.

Thanks guys for the input. I’m gonna try to put it up and rotate it. I don’t see any grease or punctures on the boots so hopefully it works.

Who installed the lift?

My guess is they or you, didn't push them out of the hubs.

I don't remove the CVs, but I do remove the axle nut and gently tap the end of the threaded portion flush with the hub. That way I gain a lot more flex of the CV joint and can manipulate the suspension safer.

You need to remove that CV and repair/ replace it as already mentioned above.

You might get away with getting that joint back together, but since it’s spun, it’s probably already gouged the joint up a little bit.

Try to get back together and un-twist it and see what happens. It’s a crapshoot, but it’s worth a shot.

Axle joint inside the boot came apart from over extending it.

Happened to me on a car after I put coil overs on it. I was able to get it back together.
