I swear, I do not remember even seeing the rear plates lights in the camera when the truck is in reverse.
Do you all see these lights when you are in reverse and I simply missed it, or is something wrong with my camera?

Did you update your license plated lights? Those look too white to be stock.

I did, LED bulbs, long time ago.
The issue is not the brightness of the lights but the fact that they appear in the camera when in reverse. It could be my imagination, but I swear the bottom line of the image was 'above' the lights and I do not recall ever seeing them. I am wondering if anyone else see the license plate lights when in reverse.

Turn off your lights at night and see if they come on. It appears the lights are in the same area as license plate.

I don’t see the lights proper, but that area is lit up on mine when I back up at night.

My issue is not the light source, I know it's the license plate lights. I just don't remember ever seeing them inside the camera frame when the truck is in reverse so I am trying to determine if this is normal and I simply didn't pay attention, or if the camera is broken, if it tilted down or something.

Your camera view is normal, its what mine has looked liked, with the original lights. The lights are in the camera view. it might be more pronounced at times depending on the light level outside, camera will adjust.
