Let me start with saying - now I understand why dealers don't want to invest time in doing FDRS updates if it's not covered by warranty work or a direct issue....

This past weekend I decided to perform FDRS updates on my truck, as I had quite a few and my PowerUp version is out of date. I used a VNCI VM3 tool while the truck was connected to a NOCO 10. I was able to get through all updates, with the exception of the IPMA. It has failed for me several times now. At one point, the module was greyed out on FDRS, so I thought it was for sure bricked, but after disconnecting the batteries, it's now at least showing up purple. Reprogramming has failed multiple times while attempting PMI (sometimes on Block 1, sometimes on Block 2). In a last ditch effort, I have ordered a Mongoose cable and a Clore 20 amp charger, which should be here this evening.

Other than continuing to attempt the PMI, is there anything else I should be trying here?

Thanks,

Brian

When you say faill you mean when it fdails at configuration?

Thats not a failure.. Its an issue int he change of the IPMA software in lines 21. It adds values and Ford didnt add the exteded values to the new config so that line fails. Ford has a accetpable failure of 0 so 1 line will cause a config fail. When looking at the logs I can see exactly which line failed to write and everytime its the same one.

SO if the ipma is not erroring out and it flashed the firmware I wouldnt worry about trying to get it to succeed.. it will always fail until the interagators runs prior to an OTA and fixes the As build online.

If you send me your vin Ill make sure its good.

If I tfailed during flash then its due to the unit you are flashing with. The mongoose and the Ford real VCMs are the only ones that flash Can FD witout issues.

I’ve never seen anyone use the VNCI VCM 3 before. I was considering trying one. What’s a NOCO 10?
