This issue is intermittent as stated in the thread title. My truck will randomly struggle to turn over and start up the engine.
My first guess was that the alternator or battery are going out.
However i took my truck to a local Autozone to get a quick and free battery/alternator check.
The employee printed out the sheet and said that everything came out satisfactory on the paper.
I am contemplating on bringing it to a local stealership for further diagnosing however i cannot afford to have much downtime with my daily driver.
Until then is anybody on here on having "intermittent" start up problems with their 5.0L V8 Coyote engines?
If so i would like to get as much information as possible to get down to the root of this matter. TIA!

Starter solenoid is going out, you are likely in for a starter. That how my 5.4 Triton acted before it went.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your F-150 concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Can you try and get this on video? Is it cranking and a no start? If so, is the cranking speed slower when this is happening? A bad alternator should not affect a starting condition, but it can affect the battery. Batteries can be the cause of random starting issues even if they check out fine. Make sure your terminals are nice and tight too.

My truck has the big fuel tank and once while parked on an incline with a quarter tank left cranked forever without starting until I bounced around and cranked it again.

Things are pretty flat around here and I usually don’t get below half a tank; so it’s only happened once.

Ford’s been cheaping out on once reliable parts like windshield wipers; so a starter motor wouldn’t surprise me either.

Also, sometimes; one section of a fuel pump motor will go bad and stall out if it’s stopped in that position but otherwise will pump normally once spun up. You can see it with an oscilloscope but it’s otherwise a problem many technicians will overlook while chasing down the usual suspects.

Good luck with your truck!

the occurrence is extremely random so getting it on video would be a very slim chance. secondly when it is "cranking" it does always turn on. the "cranking" however may stutter or take longer than usual.

Are you getting any deep sleep warnings or other low battery indications. When I go out of town and don't drive my 21 for a week and it goes into deep sleep mode I have noticed it seems to struggle a little to turn the motor over when starting. I don't know about the 22's but I have seen where a lot of people have replaced the factory battery on the 21's.
