Having an issue on my 2024 Ford F150 XLT that every time you startup the truck, no matter the outside temperature the A/C comes on. Went though the owners manual, all functions listed on the dash setups and online. None worked, and even took to the Ford Dealer to have it checked out, which they were puzzled as well and the Service Representative said their managers truck does the same thing.

Ever since the last new installed update at the dealer it's been doing it. Found out its some Ford Programmers idea to have auto climate control. Unless I catch it right away after starting it up, I'm driving my hybrid vehicle to save gas, which is now wasting gas running the A/C system. I do believe a high percentage of drivers can manage their climate control without the aid of electronics that WASTES GAS, instead of saving gas and the cycle life of my A/C system components!

Hopefully if enough people give the feedback that they will change this function in the next update!

So your XLT never had auto climate control until the last update ? Your Ac is not running constantly even with auto climate, it cycles on and off to maintain temp and humidity. It will also run in the winter to keep condensation down. Yes you can turn it off if you want, but if the outside and inside temps don't call for Ac, then your compressor is not on, only in standby. Unfortunately, you would need a Lot of people to contact Ford and even then it may not be addressed for quite some time.

The one thing that does annoy me with my '24 is that even when you are manually controlling the AC, there is still some automatic functions going on in the background. The weather has been cooling off a bit so I have been driving with the AC "off" and the windows down, which normally works fine but I noticed on longer drives that I'll feel the AC kick back on even though the switch is off.

I'm not sure the logic behind this but it could be some sort of maintenance function to keep the system healthy. My 2011 would run the AC for a minute or 2 after starting the engine, regardless of the switch position, but then it would stay off for the rest of the drive if I deselected the AC. In the new truck the buttons seem more like requests vs commands and the system will override you and do what it wants.

Running the AC on a Powerboost should not affect gas mileage at all. The compressor is electric and is not driven by a belt.

Hi Tom, Respectfully as a 70-year old retired Electrician and Electronic Technician a Load is a Load, whether it's electrical or mechanical. Besides if the driver doesn't require or want the cooling or dehumidification it shouldn't be active. Just more items to function and lessen it's life cycle. As we automate our lives as programmers, we tend to over automate functions that will just cause other issues or failures as time goes on.

I can't disagree with you. My point was only that the hit to your MPG will be negligible.
