I run a Banks IDash and have both banks of cat temps displayed along with, both banks AFR and IAT and Boost. No boost drops seen and my AFR's stay nice with the stock Whipple tune. Once the 24's get cracked, a re-tune should make it even better.
Great information, thank you. I’m concerned about my factory cats failing. I also live in a place where there check the cat OBDII for functioning to pass annual emissions.

Would you be willing to post a picture of your idash screen where you monitor everything? I just received my idash and want to monitor the correct sensors.

No CEL at all and no I did not re-tune. I installed these 2 weeks before I left for SickWeek and then raced them all week, so after the break in (per their instructions), I have not babied the truck. Whipple tunes are pretty conservative, so swapping out the stock cats for the hi flows did not have any negative effect.

This is what a stock cat looks like inside, see the Swiss cheese grate? really slows the flow!

Wow, that's interesting. My 23 factory cats don't look anything like that.

They look more similar to the alpha cats. A fine grid.

Yeah, I'll take a pic on my way home today and post it. In addition to what you look at on the IDash, you can also set "alerts" that will flash in Yellow if you violate a parameter that you set, like mine is set to alert me if my cat temps go over 1700 or you can set it to remind you if IAT get higher than XX etc. great tool.

That is looking from the engine side down into the exhaust. Mine is a 2024 XL 5.0. I have no idea if the cats are different between the various motors.

Is the SPD Alpha Catted Y-pipe even worth considering for a non-supercharged 5.0L?

If you are looking for better flow, lower cat temps and way better sound, YES. Not everyone wants to run Long Tubes but wants better flow and this is an option. Do you really need it? No, but if you ever need to replace your stock cats, I would definitely go this route over OEM. Well made, sound great and an easy install. If you do go this route, buy a O2 sensor tool with an adjustable head, it made the job SUPER easy.

Thanks for this, I have not looked around for them except on SPDs website which is $2100 something.

They were on sale for 1900 a few weeks back. Had to jump on the 1650 deal! ?

I just installed my Whipple 3-4 weeks ago. Got a Banks Idash to monitor temps and was thinking I could wait a bit to order new cats but might have to jump on it now.
